Why turn shiny brake rotors??

No kiddin....I noticed my rear brakes lock up for the first few stops every morning. I never knew it was from rust, however here in VA it doesnt suprise me the least. Makes sense though.

In conclusion, a brake doesn't need to be turned if it is within specs. Just like my original post.

i suppose next you're going to tell us that we dont need to fill our gas tanks if they're full, right? heh, i never made the connection. thanks Mr Obvious, you're a lifesaver! :D

Something else that takes rotors out of spec fast is improper lug nut torque. The thinner plate style rotors the new cars use warp easily if the tire jockey at walmart just zaps the lugnuts down with his trusty 1/2 drive impact, they are usually toast. I think that gets more rotors then anything else.
