quick question everyone, title explains it all, got a deal on 35s if they fit i will buy them. (sorry if this topic has been addressed already) rig all stock except 2" blocks in rear. i realize its gonna be a tight fit, but can anyone here tell me from experience if this is possible? just using truck as a driver, not rock crawling or anything like that, if i'm careful can i run these tires around town? thanks in advance!

The easy answer is no. Not without some serious cutting into the truck. I have 4" lift, all spring and I had to do some decent cutting to get my tires not to rub when I drove up steep diveways or into parking lots.

It depends on the tires. I bought a stock 1991 K5 that came with Toyo Open Country 35x13.5x15 tires and they fit fine for the most part. They rubbed a little in the front when I turned the wheels. I probably could have cut off a tiny amount of sheet metal to fix it, but I sold them and got smaller tires.

If they had been 12.5" or 12" wide they might have fit, but I can't say for sure.

You'd be surprised what you can fit with stockish rims and minor trimming. The stock suspension doesn't have a lot of uptravel.

Watch the tires against the drag link on hard right turns.

Now do you have the necessary gears to turn 35's?

Please you know thats a no :D

Shhhhhh...it's rhetorical.

People learn better by thinking than by being told.

not to get off topic but are those the stock rims in your pics with toyo tires? How did u get them to look like that? Do u have any pics of the whole truck not just the tires? My stock rims are pretty pitted.

I love the way those tires look on a clean rig with a lift... :waytogo:

Those are stock rims. The previous owner had them chromed. Click into my user profile and I have some pics of the whole truck there in my album. :waytogo:

What year is the truck? The pre-80 trucks had even less room in the front fenders - I've seen 33's rub bad on stock suspension on those. For an 80's fender they will fit fine as long as you go straight. If you don't want the fenders chewing the tires on turns into parking lots and such - you'll need to trim some fender. Oh, and keep the sway bar on.

Chances are that you'll only have to trim the lower edge of the rear of the wheel opening. Nobody can tell you for sure - there are too many variables. If the tires are mounted, the seller should be willing to let you put at least the fronts on.

You have some choices for gears, but they all start with a "4". Will they truck move with the stock gears? Probably, but it will suck.

k thanks for the info. its an 89. i was under the impression that i may have to cut the back lower corner of the fender a little bit. they aren't mounted, they would be going on my rims which are like a 7.5 or 8" wide (narrow) oh and jessejames thanks for the pics but i cant see what it they look like on the vehicle. so if anyone has pics of 35s on a stock blazer i'd like to see them.

Yes, those are 35's. I have a few more pics, some close ups of the tires, PM me your email address and I'll zip them up and send them your way.

not for nothing........a "deal" is never a deal if it doesn't work.....35's on a stock suspension and drivetrain makes no sense. why? the look? imo it won't look good and serves no purpose unless ground clearance is what you're after. why do you have blocks in the rear, sagging springs?

you're going to strain your tranny, get poor fuel economy and maybe break an axle. the thruck won't stop as good either.......then you get to find another "deal" to fix it....find out what your gear ratio is first.....you'll be much happier fixing up your truck if you do it right.

here's my truck on 35's with a 10" rim and a 2 1/2" lift.....i drove it for a day or so to test it........sawzall fixed it fine and i had 4.10:1. went to an 8" rim too

nice pics. shovelbill80 i know 35s would be pushing the mechanical boundaries of my stock suspension and running gear but $200 is hard to pass up for 4 new tires, and although my 33s appear to be in good shape they all have dead spots and thus is probably just as abusive driving it the way it is. (quite a bumpy ride till i get above 25-30:dunno:) still, i appreciate the feedback, and i think i'll hold off till i can find a set of 33s for a good price, stay patient, probably the most logical thing i can do at the moment. probably not a good idea to trade one problem for another in my particular situation. i think the brown one's lift/tire combo is very porportinate to its body size, and i don't think i'd like 35s on mine w/o more lift. it was mainly the availability of these tires that got me thinking, and looks, yes looks are important. if they weren't i would have bought a hyundai lol. thanks again for feedback.

what make tires are they.....new? perhaps you can buy them and flip em to someone in order to finance a new set for yourself. i have a garage full of Harley parts that were "deals" i couldn't pass up.....

i really like 35's myself.....i just don't feel like doing the work and spending the money to get it correct. 33's will take me "almost" anywhere 35's will, for what i enjoy doing, and do it for a lot less. i AM going to do a proper 3" lift.........just in case :D

i've made so many mistakes in this life that i attempt to pass on what i've learned.....plus i'm not afraid to share my opinion
