Will the 10 bolts hold 6.0L or swap to 12 bolts?

I am planning to install 6.0L (LQ9) 345hp to my Jimmy, will the 10 bolts hold the power or it will be broken? Most of my friends said swap to 12 bolts that for 2500 3.73 ratio it will fit without any modification. How heavy I will feel when I swap?

There are no 12 bolt fronts, a 2500 would have a 14 bolt in the rear and either a 10 bolt or Dana 44 in the front (those two front axles are very similar).

Axles from a 2500 will bolt right in except for the rear u-joint which requires a conversion joint.

As for whether your 10 bolts will hold up, it depends on what you're doing with the truck. On the drag strip 10 bolts hold up to a lot more power than that. Four wheeling in the rocks with 37" tires you could break them with 20 hp. So tell us more about your truck and what you're doing with it :D

My car has 700r4 trans just rebuilt & will install 3.73 ratio with 33'' tire.
The car is DD and sand use with some street race with other jeeps not too much. You know when you install 6.0L u feel you have muscles you want to kiss a$$ some cars

If you've got the money for a 6.0L transfer, you should have the money to upgrade your axles...it isn't that pricey to go to a 14bolt rear (full float or semi-float)

Don't try to swap a 12-bolt in the front. Parts are IMPOSSIBLE to find.

Not sure but by his username and the way he speaks/types words and from other posts he has been in, not to mention his 'location" says SA I am assuming Saad is from Saudi Arabia and if so his selection of axles may not be to great. But I would agree I love my 3/4 ton swap over the 1/2 ton gear I had before.

What I find, front 10 bolts and for the rear 12 bolts its for 2500 Subarban

Saad,

as I told you in the other thread
upgrade to 3/4 ton axles ( 10-bolt front + 14-bolt rear )
you won't regret it
the rear 10-bolt is so weak, it broke on me 3 times with just a stock 350 engine and 33" tires

you can find them for about 1500-2000 SR
