Last I knew, it was Mile Marker's hydraulic winches that the Military was switching to. In fact, just about anybody that requires a winch has either switched to hydraulic or still use PTO. Even Warn's "Industrial" winches are only designed for intermittent use.
If you search the internet, there are tons of organizations that have switched to Mile Marker's hydraulic winches.
If you upgrade the plumbing and valves in a Mile Marker's hydraulic system you can get them to go mighty fast. Otherwise, they go at the speed of a slow Warn (M12000, M15000).
You can't really compare an electric winch to a hydraulic winch anyway. The only benefit that the electric winch has over the hydraulic one is that it can operate without the motor running. Other than that, the electric winch is pathetic in comparison.
If it came down to just price after meeting the requirements I can guarantee you that Warn would've found a way to outbid Mile Marker. Furthermore, just because it cost more doesn't mean it is better. If it did, you'd have a Nissan Pathfinder instead of a K5.
