Winter Camping Tents

So. So. So important

Yep, and the problem I have with almost every winter tent is the vestibules are just flapping in the breeze with no structure. They require very snug tie downs. The hilleberg Tents have some models that have the vestibule built into the structure and I think this will make the tent way more functional.

You plan to only use it in the winter and have a separate summer tent?

Permanent double wall would be a disaster in the summer.

Also, I think $400-600 is a fair price for quality.

Edit: my tent... The fly attaches to the tent frame itself with clips kinda like a backpack strap. It can be staked out for additional security but it's not required and still functions well

I have a hennessy hammock that I use for summer camping. If you watch how that hilleberg is set up the tent is inside the fly and they go up in one go. It keeps the inside tent always dry. The only other company I have seen to use this approach is vaude. My pack I use biking is vaude and it is excellent quality. I have been having trouble researching the vaudes because they don't have a good US website.

I did discover that a screen inner is available for the allak for summertime. Also $$ though.
