Thought there was a post on here about this stuff, but I can't find it.

Seems to measure 5/32" OD.
All I see are are kits that include the right hose, but I don't need the kit, everything but that hose is fine.

It looked like post-1987(-91) might have used the same hose as well, but I can't be certain.

Unfortunately no. The GM stuff is ~4mm (5/32) OD. I could measure the ID too, but I suspect if I can find a 5/32 OD hose/tubing, the ID will be correct. There isn't a lot of room for the ID when you get this small.

Obviously it's out there or the kits wouldn't exist (I've also seen it on rockauto, sold with wiper arms), but I just can't find where they are getting it.

Looks like 3/32 ID (~.093), which is almost 2.5mm.

I may have to try that. The listings are all over the place. Measurement is normally by OD I thought, so saying its 3/32 ID is odd, especially not listing the OD.

Looks like Schucks sells it https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/...sal-/3d359da4300a/gates-wiper-hose/gat0/27045

Pretty nonsensical that the nipple size is smaller than the ID of the hose. Unless they are measuring OD of the nipple.

Gates listing is just as bad, .0625 and .09375 are both not 2MM: https://www.gates.com/us/en/other-p...m-hose.p.4040-000000-000000.v.4040-04111.html

I'll order a few feet to Schucks and see what comes in.

Read that there is no metric hose diameters...all apparently are Imperial, and the MM is just a "close enough" number.

We use a fair amount of the 4mm/5/32 hose on our equipment, I can check to be sure we have black and get some to you.
we order it from a place called automation direct.com

Can you take the clip off the arm and carry it into O'Reilly or similar? Seems like there's a huge variation on who sells what.

I appreciate the offer, I got three feet from Schucks coming for .89/ft, I should have it today. I'll revisit the thread whether it's right or wrong.

I've got the hose removed already, so as best I can in the store, I'll compare them. Not even going to be worth the gas to return if they are wrong lol.

Sooo...you were saying? lol

Gates 27045 is wrong.

The stuff you deal with is rubber? I can find polyethylene on the automationdirect page, but they had poly at Schucks. Testing it's flexibility, I am pretty certain it's too hard to expand enough to fit over the nipple on the trucks.

LMC shows "36-4075 Washer Hose-Wiper Arm-4 ft" for $5.95, but of course shipping just about doubles the cost. It's not insane, but still works out to $3/ft for some tiny hose.

Someone obviously is making this stuff, I can't believe it's this hard to find as a "bulk" item though.

Ours is poly not rubber, just as you saw on their website. Can you heat the end just enough to allow flexibility to get it over the fitting?

With heat it may be possible. Hadn't considered that. The end that didn't break has a pretty good flare to it from age, so it would need to expand a fair bit.

$10 isn't going to kill me to buy from LMC and (apparently) have stuff that is correct. But I'm pessimistic it IS correct...GM manual says its 3/32, which is exactly what I measured, but ALL the 3/32nd hose being sold, to include GM "NOS" off eBay, has the wrong outer diameter and wall thickness. The OEM hose is .156" OD (5/32), .093" ID (3/32) and approximately .025" wall thickness as measured with my calipers. The difference between what I got and what the online vendors show is more than just measurement error.

It's freaking hose lol. It really can't be this rare can it?

I'm going to try LMC and see what I get.

Alright, got the LMC stuff. At least they give you enough for ~3 wiper arms. 51". OEM hose length is 15.5" per wiper arm.

They are selling the wrong stuff. Theirs is .175 OD, .043 wall, and .10 ID.

It does, however, fit. I had to remove the wiper arms to be able to use a jewelers screwdriver to force it into the spring, then bend it enough to pull it out the other end. But the ends fit over the nipples and it will work.

I suspect the proper OD hose would be a lot easier to fish through, meaning not removing the wiper arms (which is a pain) but oh well. How often do you have to do this?

No part number handy, I used the ANCO wiper brand washer hose and it fits nice and snug. I'll see if I can find the package.

Ok so the part number is 15580960 which has been superseded to 22072035.

I still don’t have any though lol

I can't find specs on that part number unfortunately. Since the manual just lists 3/32, no mention of wall thickness (and I don't even think a part #), I wonder what they were expected to use except standard bulk stuff.

The Anco kit might be this one

Some of the comments mention it being thinner wall than what others are selling, but no actual measurements.

The Anco 78-764 kit is <$15 on eBay and has both 3/32" and 7/64" i.d. tubes included (72" each). It looks like the Continental part number is 65109. I'm going to try getting Gates 27045 at Orielly. If that works, it's only about $3 to do both wiper arms and mine are already off.

Man I have been putting this off cause I don’t need 50 feet of it. I need to get on this after you update on the gates. My oriellys says unavailable.

If what they have matches my old stuff, do you want me to buy a few more feet to put in the mail?

If it works I’ll buy yours and mine and your time. Please lmk!
