WIX and NAPA GOLD

Yeah, I move it from one engine to another every 3000 miles. I never understood what these "oil changes" help, but they say you're supposed to do them :dunno:. The hardest part is getting 2 vehicles to hit 3000 at the same time.

i use to do this on my dads old plow truck . . . the oil pan was heavy rust and would leak out 5 qrt every few hr's . but the truck was only used on the property .

well sh*t. Wix is my brand...I guess not now

Great...more Americans out of work.

I haven't seen any with the red gasket.

They probably expect with less concern about product quality, that more gaskets will pull free of the filter and stick to the block. This way they can deny they didn't do something to warn owners. As if the made in China wasn't enough warning.

And to be fair, I'd call that 80's hot pink.

In my studying this, I found continual references to a particular filter manufacturer that uses that bright red gasket and drain back valve. I can't remember which manufacturer it is right off.

They posted a second video. NAPA Corporate took this seriously and sent in reps.

What do I replace my China WIX with??? Purolator Boss? Mobil1 ???

Technically, a "P" gasket is not a direct interchange with a flat gasket :frown1:. Kind of ironic they are both labeled "the original".
