don't wanna Use Toyota filters?145K and counting.
Changed all the drivetrain fluids this evening. Everything looked great except for my old oil filter. I think I'm going to need to find another filter brand, WIX just isn't the same anymore.

I work at a Toyota dealer. I know there was an issue with Gray market parts, from NON Toyota distributers., but never had an issue with what we have. 90915-YZZA1Not sure about the Tacoma filters but the RAV4 forum I read has had a bunch of reports of the Toyota branded filters being hit or miss lately.
I don't want to drive an hour and a half one way to buy Toyota parts. WIX has been the best aftermarket filter available locally for a while. I am getting a bunch of people on FB saying the aluminum housing that came on my truck is the issue though. I don't know if there is any truth to that yet, but the original filter housing for the 3.5L was plastic and this is not the original.don't wanna Use Toyota filters?
I'm in SC, but i could sell you a case of 10 for 46.22 with tax. Postal shouldn't be much more than 10$ snail mail. I'll see what i can do on the filter housing, but i know they are not cheap. Message me your VIN if you want me to check.Digging into it more, the aluminum housing I have is a direct replacement Toyota part that fits the same filter as the plastic one that comes on the truck, so I'm thinking the issue is in the WIX filter even more. Next oil change I will switch to the Toyota filter and see if there is any difference.
