WL: 1986 K10 into 1983 (1984?) Suburban.

I haven't mounted them yet. Chris (78SWB) has them on his (the BFG's), as does Stein, and I think they both like them.

I like them on dry stuff, like dirt and rocks. They work great for that, but get some mud or snow in the mix and they suck. They don't clean out for ****.

Jon has grooved his. I wonder if they work better after that?

Forgot to update this. Got the front faces of the wheels sand blasted. Was told that CARC really sucked to get off.

Then had them painted white like steel wheels are supposed to be.

Got PVC inserts from Trail Worthy Fab.

That wasn't near as bad as everyone tries to make it sound.

I will never understand black wheels.

Got the first one mounted.

I made Wade mount the other three.

They still stick out a ways on the H1's.

Then I had to flex it out, cause, well, I am a jackass.

Bump.

So this has been at a stand still (it's not mine, but I put it together). Anyhow, I was thinking of using the 6" Tough Country lift springs under the front of it. It currently has rearched factory front springs with a 1" zero rate on it.

Thoughts?

Martin

The Tuff (I guess) Country 6" springs are under this Blazer.

Look to be "EZ-Ride".

No one ever did pipe up with an opinion....

I went back and fixed some dead picture links. The lesson I've learned is to not use Facebook to host pictures. The links die. Anyone know why???

It's getting nice out here, so it is time to start working on this again.

I'm not sure, I use FB as a host as well.

I clean my pictures out every now and than. Always thought I deleted em by mistake :dunno:

So I am pretty confident that I am going to swap to the 6" Tuff Country springs.

This thing NEEDS crossover steering. Bad.

Wade is getting married next month, so I was going to buy cross over for this thing for his wedding present. What would you guys suggest buying?

I have used ORD's kit. It is nice. It is also a little pricey, and does not have springless arms. Anyone use DIY4X's kit yet? Does getting stuff from Northwest Fab suck, seeing and I am not a Canuck?

Martin

I went with cheap springless arms from ebay, like $100 for the pair w/studs. Bought the tubing local. Inserts were WFO and pitman arm. Used dodge TRE's.

Do you have any pics? Were they machined at an angle for the TRE's?

I have WFO reverse high steer springless arms and RuffStuff crossover steering kit on my current build. FYI, you can buy the NWF arms from Ruffstuff at the same time you buy the cross over kit since they are a stateside distributor for them. I have also used Ballistic Fab springless arms in the past and they were pretty affordable.
