WL: 1990 K5 (California to Nebraska on 38" rubber. (WARNING: Lots of Pics))

Marty said this was like stand on your tie rod steep. I am inclined to think an autos pump would be sucking air.

If the auto has the correct fluid level and filter entrance it shouldn't. The pan should be pretty full at running level, if it was upside down, that would be a different story. If it's too full it will aerate the fluid because the fluid level will be way up into the gears. Which might be the case at those angles as well, but it should still suck fluid if setup correctly.

Was his clutch MC partially empty?

Which seems weird because if the MC had sucked air it would still be in the clutch line.

Maybe your clutch is so heavy it just fell away from the flywheel from gravity, ha ha

Or are you saying the pedal wouldn't release it? Sounds like you better switch back to an old z-bar clutch linkage Martin, those hydraulic clutches are too much like an auto trans...

Mechanical clutch...es suck.

Martin

So it's settled, Martin prefers hydraulics over mechanical transmission parts. Time for a slushbox. :woot:

Ok, so maybe I deleted a word out...

Just think, if you put a slushbox and a cam in one of those big blocks you might actually have fun in the sand.

No guarantees on its life expectancy.

It's broke.

Also, I put a battery in this the other day, to pull a stuck wrecker out.

It ran like dog shit. Something is wrong with it. I should fix it.

Also needs pinion bearings for the Dana 60. Very loose.

Martin

Is that a roller block?
Put a roller cam in that roller block.
Does the AC work?

I would assume it is a roller block, I have never had it open.

That tired engine is in need of more than a roller cam.

The AC does not work, because some one hacked up the AC system before I owned it.
