It drove down the road fine. They made noise, but it wasn't overwhelmingly loud.

Wow cool adventure! Thanks for sharing!

Through vegas it could have gone the route of the Hangover but being a disciplined and steadfast CK5er as you are, the mission was understood. :wink1:

Great memory and bonding experience.

Good stuff.

Makes me wish I had taken more pics on my cross country trip in 2009.

Finally found this thread, looks like a fun trip.
I miss the blazer but, you drove it farther the first week than I did the whole time I had it :thumb:

That pretty awesome to post all those pics and such! Nice blazer too! Not trying to be a dick here, but did you happen to pick up any of that trash you took pictures of in Moab? Thats the kind of crap that gets those trails closed.

The transfer case and the chair were a little bit bigger than I wanted to haul around in my already packed K5, so no, I didn't pick those up. I was confused as to why someone would have thrown them out there though.

looked like a great trip, i have plans on driving cross country in my 68 chevelle im putting together, twin turbo 427 bigblock. the route ideas are basically southern states to the east coast then north to newyork, do some burnouts in time square, then head west along the northern states, then down the west coast back to socal.

I haven't done anything real extreme with it, there isn't a whole lot to do with it here in this part of Nebraska, but I can share the few pictures I have.

These are some pictures a friend of mine took one day, she wouldn't ride along as I tried to make it. This is a couple miles from where I live, it is called "the cut". It is where the train use to come through this hill and curve North into an old town that no longer exists called Bradish. For years, this has been the local spot to see what your 4x4 could do. I didn't make it this time. The snow and mud were fighting me. The snow doesn't melt down in the bottom very well because of the tree cover, but it was actually a warm day and thawing out.

I wasn't super impressed with the pictures she took, didn't get any except down in the bottom, but she is a girl. . . . . .

This was a couple weeks later, I climbed it twice that day with the Blazer. That was still without airing down the tires. I tried the North side a few times, but was unable to make it. No one has made it since the county redid the gravel road over ten years ago. They threw all of the trees they cut down down the bank and made it a much steeper incline at the top. Neither of them help it out any. I climbed up there on foot and threw a bunch of the dead branches off to the side. That allowed me to get farther up it than ever before, but I still didn't make it. I might try it again with aired down tires. Here are a couple of pictures I took after I crawled up it with the Blazer and turned around. I came back down it after this was done. I need to go back there with someone who can take a few pictures in the process.

This is the North side. I should have taken a few more pictures after I unsuccessfully tried climbing it a few more times.
