Won't start after a winter's worth or repairs: Eye candy while I wait for parts

speaking of luck, i visited three parts stores today, and none of them stock carburetor parts, even gaskets or rebuild kits. i guess carburetors are really old tech around here. i'll just order what i need once i know whether the floats are bad or not.

Well, i pulled the carb, took off the float bowls, and checked the floats. They're the nytrophyl foam type, so no pinholes to wory about. the primary sat much lower than the 7/16" specified when upside down. The secondary was right at 13/64". It doesn't have secondary idle mixture adjustment screws, and the secondary bowl's gasket is shared with the metering block that bolts inside it. since i had to order the gaskets, i'll have plenty of time to clean everything before i get it back together. hopefully fixing the float height will get me on the right track.

now, i have to admit that i'm feeling a bit guilty about how long all this has taken. since i have very limited know-how and therefore won't be repaying the debt in knowledge any time soon, i hope some pretty pictures will suffice. i'll start with one i took of my neighbor's new ride today (well, new within the last six months). This is for all of you who have spent so much time and patience on me. Thanks.

This is the first time i've seen this particular horse out and about. He prefers the 458 Italia or the Vanquish for daily driving. I did see his bathtub Porshe out the other day though. Summer must be here if he's driving his collection again.

this is the kind of stuff that goes screaming past me as i'm underneath my truck covered in grease. living next to a multimillionare car collector has it's benefits, but the novelty wears off. at least it's a hit with all my friends...

You get all types in this state. Average Joe can be living right next door to Multimillion Mike and you'd never know it.

Unless there's something you're not telling us...
