My 1987 K5 Blazer was rear ended a few hours ago and now it won't start up. Is there a saftey cut off for the fuel pump? Or any other thing that may cause it?

Im having the same issue of my k5 not starting after a good bump in a creek bed i was crossing,..i used starter fluid n it would almost kick over,..but it just wont start. As i speak,..it's still up in the hunting grounds...
Could have got air in your lines...
The bump could have caused old sediment in the tank to get in the lines clogging something up. Fuel filter clogged perhaps....
Fuel line could have hole in it...
Fuel line could have popped off the tank. The stock clamps are not that great on the rubber lines going to the tanks...
Timing could have got knocked off...
Fuel line could have got a kink in it...
First thing I would do is check all the fuel lines to see if there is any leaks or kinks and all connected tight. Then I would test the lines by sucking threw the nipple on the fuel filter housing to make sure there is no air. Then check fuses. Then spark wires, plugs, electrical, starter tight? Starter wires good?

I got my K5 towed out alright and we were able to tow it straight to the shop where my mechanic took a look n listen and the fuel pump went south...it wasn't pulling any fuel,..so now he will replace it.![]()
Thanks everyone, I passed the info to the shop this morning and he said he will start testing later today. I will let Y'all know what he found if they don't total it out and I hope they don't, it only has 76,000 original miles on it.
Even if they do, you should be able to buy it back fairly cheap.
