Worst Day Ever Pics (post 'em up!)

Looks like you could save it, what did you end up doing with it? That was a nice truck!
I sold it for $300 minus the Rallys and tires. The guy who bought it rebuilt and restored it pretty decent. It had some typical Ohio rust here and there but was solid and straight. It was a '78 but I was constantly changing the interior to the older '73-'76 style because I like that older interior design better. Here's a picture of the interior the summer before the fire. This was before I got a seat cover and scored the woodgrain door panels and dash off a '73 'Burb. They were of course ruined in the fire.

haha these are all great!
Hey thanks man! :waytogo:

It was great when it happened too! Watching my truck burn up in front of my eyes was hilarious! If I would have had a video camera I would have taped the event and sent it to America's Funniest Home videos!

:haha: :dunno:

Then you'd have so much money it would be funny for you too...but seriously man you know thats not what I meant...just this huge thread of destruction is a little funny...

I get what your saying...

Finding my truck sitting in the desert after it was stolen wasn't the happiest day of my life. I guess we all just like to share our misery with each other, hoping secretly to find someone worse off that ourself.

Plus, some of the carnage we come up with is kinda cool...

:D

Point taken, mine doesn't have much rust, it's just inconveniently placed as I have no ability to weld and it's in an area that has contours to it, and has to support the weight of the seat brackets so, we can't just rivet a couple old aluminum signs to fit and caulk them up good and go like we just did to my buddy's '79 today. It had a bunch of floorboard rust in the backseat footwell area, small holes (still structurally sound) so, we cleaned it to bare metal, primed and painted it, then trimmed scrap aluminum signs to fit, caulked the bottoms real good, and riveted them into place. Then, we are going to caulk around the edges underneath and above, then undercoat nice and thick. Then, we are putting new sound deadening and rubber flooring. Mine though, I am going to have to find a body shop that can weld in new panels at those mounting points. At least, I was able to salvage my seat brackets, I ground all the rust off of them, primed them and put 2 coats of black Rustoleum, they look good now, if only my floorboards were as simple! Well, there's also the matter of mine having a blown head gasket (coolant pouring out the tailpipes)! Had it for 2 weeks before that happened, I haven't even gotten to take it wheelin' yet, it has been a yard decoration for 2 months or so now! Oh, gotta add just how ripped off I got, my dumbself, I bought this train wreck for $4400! It's got an SM465, I really wanted a 4spd truck, plus the color was just what I wanted, has the lift I wanted (3" ORD with rear shackle flip), had a nice sounding exhaust (which, upon further inspection, I am going to have to rip out when I put in the 14BFF), and looked so pretty (the interior wwas still in it then, and the seats look quite nice, original blue vinyl (except for the not quite matching driver's seat butt cushion (it was reupholstered)) and drove so nice, I had to have it, oh well, at least I didn't pay the $5000 homedude was asking for it. I guess I pretty well proved the old adage "a sucker's born every minute!" :( Now, I am stuck with a truck that has two problems that I can't fix, the floorboards 'cause I can't weld, and the blown head gaskets 'cause I don't know how to do that level of engine work. Any NC guys got a recommendtaion of a shop to get it towed to? Thanks!

who needs rock sliders when the rocker isnt there anymore :haha:

This also doubles as built in air conditioning (I'd say that one has at least 4 additional compressors) and you can now conveniently use the dome light as a rock light. :D

haha yea one time I had some books and paperwork for school sitting on the passenger seat, I took a left hand turn, the books slide a little but the papers on top slide off the seat and out the hole in the floor :doah:

I remember when my battery box rotted out of the inner fender and I drove over my battery... I wondered why the truck stopped after I ran over that yellow and gray thing in the trail for about 10 seconds until I realized I didn't have power anymore. :doah: Yellow tops are pretty durrable. :waytogo:

I had a red top literally "hit the fan" in another rig I was driving. It cut open two or three of the cells. It's still in my friends truck to this day and that was probably about 2 years ago. :eek1:

when my 86 burned down, my ac aluminum parts melted and landed on the battery that I had relocated to the frame..

putting a hole about 6 inches into the battery the size of my fist..still cranked over another truck later that week!:eek1:

should have made a video, posted it on you tube and I would be famous!

Alright enough hijacking :D

Here's my buddy's worst day(s) ever:

2198845_23_full.jpg

about three hours with a hi-lift and we got out. (no other trucks around)

And his last trip out was a bad one as far as body damage goes. Before this trip he only had one small dent on the entire jeep.

This was from a low lying tree branch:

And these were from various other trees.
