This is what happens when you get stuck bad and then no one will listen to you about how to get unstuck. Damage was mostly cosmetic but we were lucky no one got hurt one more reason to never put a shackle in between straps. I did ruin the radiator the water pump the fan and as you can see most of the front of the blazer

dang that is a mud hole.

were you in the truck when the shakel blew?

i would punch the guy in the nut who did that, you could have been killed!!!!

i refuse to use ANY of my friends straps.

i have two procomp staps for me, and a BIG generic white one for use with friends.

thay show up with tow staps the strechy ones with hooks, or old frayed short straps with a chain TIED TO IT IN A KNOT!!! I'll use my strap thank you

mine doesn't even compare to some of these. after a great day offroad, about 150 miles from home, i heard what sounded like small exhaust leak, then like a lifter tick. nothing life of death, but i wanted a look. no shoulders, just ditches, and right before i made it to the off ramp, rod #7 let go. spun bearing is my best guess. thankfully, my friend let me use one of his AAA tows. that helped a whole lot. got me over 100 miles, to dallas, at least. the next day, i drove my pickup out there with a uhaul trailer to drag the beast home. uhaul said the trailer would be wide enough. nope. idiots. i had to chain the trailer to a cop tahoe (he was cool with it) so it wouldn't move, and use my truck to drag the k5 over the trailer fenders until the front wheels sat down on the other side of them. i'd like to thank my dad and the dallas cops for the hand. would have taken me forever to do that myself. who says offroading isn't a team sport?

This is a good Thread

I was the 1st aid for a local Bike race we do every year out here and had the only medic in my truck. after the race was pretty much over we decided to play around. I tore the Rear 10b off the axle tubes and snapped the front ujoint at the same time. I was not carrying the correct one to repair it on the trail. I had to be dragged 1 mile accross the Main divide out here till I could actually Coast 7miles down hill. to the pavement. AAA picked me up. luckily noone was in need of medical attention that day;

The !st and third pix are the rear diff. note the angle. she is sportin a woody. the second is the front.

Not quite as bad as when it was stolen, but here are some pics of when I blew the gov lock last year. She was parked for four months while I did a 14bff swap.

Yes I was we had the hood up and I was ducking I couldn't even feel it when they hit the end of the straps. When you are expiranced in one type of terrain and you know exactly how to get yourself out you just need to absolutely refuse to do it any other way. If they won't listen to you hopefully you can find some other freinds to help you
