Worst Day Ever Pics (post 'em up!)

No trail carnage. Just some pics before I started to work on it.

The day I got it home from the dealer.. A major eye sore..

The body had been 'slightly' tweaked by something large. and heavy. So it sat like this in my garage for about 4 mos. before I finally found a decent fender, and decent door.

ok well this whole week was S#$t for me. Beside building 4x4 stuff i am the lead fabricator for an arcitechual lighting fixture shop. This light is 800 pounds (not a typo). It is made from laser cut 1/4" plate that was then forged to create scale. The guy who forged the material overheated it and everything changed shape. I spent all week tweaking heating and smashing these things to be perfectly square etc. The upper portion of the light is about 9 feet in diameter. The lower is around 6 feet. there are frosted glass cones in sticking out of the steel. I have to make 8 of these. Oh and I was busting a$$ to get this done so the designer could aprove them and he didn't even show up..F-him!!!!

i have made two of the large sections you can see the other on the ground from the "inside" shot. This is fro some dudes house and these lights are about $10,000 bucks each!

Is that dude living in a castle or something? I get images in my head of Indiana Jones stopping by and asking him about his tapestries. Nice work though!

This was my maiden voyage, has been like this for almost 3 years with no front shaft. finally sold my dd dodge diesel to afford to do the doubler and new trans, and tom woods shafts. lasted about 8 minutes. front driveline was a little too long for big air into a birm. the real sad part was that my brother's "bumble bee" towed me the 40 miles home. i rag him about the stupid paint job and show truck looking crap. i also bent the rf spring, broke the upper king pin bushing, bent the shackle bolts and spring bushing pins. i hit hard enough that the tires turned all the way right and the rf tire was against the frame
That's a hell of a crack right there. Dang, straight through. Your hardcore.

the hard core part was selling the daily to finish the toy. a 91' dodge w350 cummins 5spd. srw. loved that truck had 280k on it when i sold it. i did everything in that truck. i mean everything. bought it when i was 17.can you tell i miss it?

Don't go all green on us here. The next weekend the owner prolly had the back hoe up there ripping the crap outta the same area. It's his land after all. Don't do dirt burnouts while a camera is rolling cuz it's amuntion for the greenies doesn't fly.

I'm not going green, it looked like a hell of a time. It's just that I didn't see anything in that video stating this was private land so it is ammunition for the green police. I do stuff like that all the time. I just make sure it doesn't get posted on the internet... sometimes you have to treat wheeling like it's your bedroom and it's playtime with your wife/gf. If they see the video, then there's no more playtime (unless you're a lucky SOB). :wink1:

Let it ride dude- I was going to! I'm not gonna get in a pissen match with you over this but Read The Words At The Begining Of The Video. Even if the words weren't there it shouldn't matter. Realistically, does it matter, maybe. But the bottom line is I don't live my life always thinking what the libs are gonna think of what I’m doing especially if I’m not doing anything WRONG. Should he have shut it down and sat there until everyone turned off their cameras cuz it might make it into the libs hands? Exactly what RPM should have been his limit before he backed off? What is the limit on wheel spin to try and conqure an obstacle? What is the time limit for burnouts? What? I need to know. You can choose to let libs dictate your every action but I’m not gonna. This sport is about letting it hang out. Like it or not we do tear **** up. Pretending we don't is stupid. Now is there anything wrong with that? I say NO. Trees grow back, the land will recover, rocks turn into dirt. It's nature. It can handle what our lil 4 wheels can dish out. I'm done.

I let it go. This isn't a pissing match. I think I'm just caught up in the possible closing of some land in the area. :doah:

Relax.

A spinning tire has no traction. He should learn to drive. Maybe he would have won TTC if he wasn't such a leadfoot. The other buggy didn't burn out like that and he made it up easier. And if the trail leader tears up the trail whether it be public or private land he is a jerk and probably not the best guy to look up to or four wheel with. And yes you should think of what the libs are gonna think because they have more power than us. Otherwise our trails wouldn't be closing every day.

Thank you. That's pretty much what I meant in my post.

You know I was thinking the same thing. The second guy chose a better line and made it look easy. I've seen some of dan dibbles other videos, the word "finese" is not in his vocabulary

thats a really blind statement

have you heard or soil erosion? damage will be there for quite some time. The rocks turning into dirt takes millions of years, tree's dont just grow back overnight. Im all for 4 wheeling but if this video was played in a room of 300 old folks looking for a way to make a difference in the world..look out! If everyone thought this was ok, wheeling would be shut down and outlawed evreywhere real quick..
