Interesting! Thanks for the story. I would DEFINITELY not be leaving my rig out for the season if I got stuck. I'd at the very least spend a couple days digging snow by hand if that's what it took to get it out.

Here's not a bad one but a funny/embarassing one for y'all! My (used to be) buddy buried his Tahoe to the frame 25' onto the beach access up at Outer Banks (so, 30 seconds into wheeling we had to get him unstuck, LOL!):
Thing that makes this so funny is there were minivans and RAV4's and such driving past him just fine, LOL! He got into trouble because he tried to romp it in 2wd to show off, got stuck then shifted to 4wd and really romped it 'cause he was pissed 'cause I was picking on him getting stuck! BUT, the little actuator is his front axle had gone bad so, 4wd wasn't engaging though the dash symbol indicated it!
'nother shot (after a little digging):
At the time I had a Grand Cherokee and mine was the biggest vehicle other than the Tahoe. The ZJ struggled pulling the heavy Tahoe out, felt like I was gonna rip the back end of my unibody off!!!
Whats really embarrising is that is Corova. Once saw a station wagon with slicks on it out there.

Broken axle shaft:
Our group just got to Camp at TDS09 we went for a quick run. I snapped my axle about a mile from camp. I spent the next day looking for a junkyard. I fixed it by sunset the next day, had a killer night run, then drove home the following morning. Now I bring 2 spare axle shafts when I go camping.

heres my best stuck. in the wilderness of afghanistan. took a push from one truck and a yank from another.
Woah.
Not so much snow. ICE. Went past here at 30 going up. No place to turn around. Backing down and could not stop.

Yup! Looks as if a lot of people on here have gotten to go out there! It's really pretty out there, I'd like to go there again!
It was funny as heck to see the big Tahoe stuck with minivans driving by! (The guy that owned the Tahoe failed to see the humor though, LOL!)

Got into some soft mushy stuff and then hit a wall of clay.
The worst part was i had a Jeep pull me out..
But it was locked on some mickey claws so....

Beach cleanup last year on PINS (Padre Island National Seashore) running a load of trash back to the dumpsters in 2wd when all forward momentum stopped. Long story short it took a big front end loader to pull the sub out.
