WOW Barrett Jackson

Dan Hogan is killing it in the 67-72 segment. His name alone adds value.

Makes a new Velocity first generation Blazer for $339k sound more palatable

Same folks who can drop a million for signed posterboard i assume

I wonder about the suspensions in a lot of these trucks. They usually just say something like "4" lift kit", as though it's being sold for $350k with an off-the-shelf Skyjacker kit on it. There is obviously a lot of attention put to engines and transmissions, then interior colors and sound system, like it's 1985. All of us understand the importance of gear ratios, spring rates, axle upgrades, driveshafts, but maybe these buyers don't. I understand that these are not 'wheelers, but this stuff makes a huge difference in enjoying the vehicle if you're actually going to drive it.

Define "as soon as we age out they will be worthless."
It’s why I don’t want anything from the 50s. I didn’t grow up with them and have no attachment to them whatsoever. My dad has fond memories of the cool stuff he had when he was younger. Square bodies are just consumables to him. Compare it to what I value and enjoy are the things I grew up with and were my first trucks. The squares.
I doubt I’ll ever have anything from the 2000 and up cause that’s what boring old people drove when I was young. They got no rizz.

I doubt the buyers who drop a couple hundred grand on a play toy drive them very much. Mostly just bragging rights of having a shiny toy they can admire in the garage or take to cars and coffee occasionally.

Could also be an investment plan or involved in a type of money laundering.

While I definitely appreciate your point of view as I have a '70, a '72 and the '90 Jimmy, my '01 isn't stock, just like the rest of them. With a small Texas Speed cam in the LQ9, headers and dual 3" exhaust, the slightly higher than stock stall in the convertor, the modified 4L80E and other things all make me smile while I use it for daily driving. There are other little things that the old ones don't have that grow on you some too.

My point is that if you modify your old trucks, as I have seen with some of yours, why leave a newer truck stock?
Play with it! :waytogo:

I r caveman with wires. If I have to learn something new right now I’d sacrifice something else and I just can’t let that happen. When I want to learn something it consumes me.

Well, can't argue that!
Been there many times myself! :saweet:
