Starting in 1974, it was a factory option...there is no evidence of it being a factory option in 1973.There was a factory roll bar for full vert squares??

This is some truth to that...but it won't last forever...whatever goes up must come down and as soon as we age out they will be worthless. My net worth just went up!

I have this thought several times a month.750k for an ugly a$$ humvee. People with money are stupid. How did they get that rich?
I can’t even sell my 85 c10 with a spid and 68k original miles for 8k750k for an ugly a$$ humvee. People with money are stupid. How did they get that rich?
It’s why I don’t want anything from the 50s. I didn’t grow up with them and have no attachment to them whatsoever. My dad has fond memories of the cool stuff he had when he was younger. Square bodies are just consumables to him. Compare it to what I value and enjoy are the things I grew up with and were my first trucks. The squares.Define "as soon as we age out they will be worthless."
I wonder about the suspensions in a lot of these trucks. They usually just say something like "4" lift kit", as though it's being sold for $350k with an off-the-shelf Skyjacker kit on it. There is obviously a lot of attention put to engines and transmissions, then interior colors and sound system, like it's 1985. All of us understand the importance of gear ratios, spring rates, axle upgrades, driveshafts, but maybe these buyers don't. I understand that these are not 'wheelers, but this stuff makes a huge difference in enjoying the vehicle if you're actually going to drive it.
While I definitely appreciate your point of view as I have a '70, a '72 and the '90 Jimmy, my '01 isn't stock, just like the rest of them. With a small Texas Speed cam in the LQ9, headers and dual 3" exhaust, the slightly higher than stock stall in the convertor, the modified 4L80E and other things all make me smile while I use it for daily driving. There are other little things that the old ones don't have that grow on you some too.I doubt I’ll ever have anything from the 2000 and up cause that’s what boring old people drove when I was young. They got no rizz.

Well, can't argue that!I r caveman with wires. If I have to learn something new right now I’d sacrifice something else and I just can’t let that happen. When I want to learn something it consumes me.
