[ QUOTE ]
So your steering is twitchy? They said I could expect a delayed response.... Can you describe in more detail the differences you feel? Have you wheeled it yet? Can you bring it by my place for a test drive?? I'll buy the burgers and beer

I agree ARG sucks. Called them up last December, they were idiots. Then I won the drawing for a free WTO set up. I talked to Lisa a few times when getting it from them, always very nice, and always answered all my questions. Definately the opposite of ARG.

my truck is RED NECK RAM equipped and I love it...

I just need to modifiy my pump a little more...the steering is kinda hard a idle.

no big deal..

Matt and Lisa are great to work with. I tell everybody here(customer wise) that when they are ready.....call WTO....

I agree 1000%. WTO is awesome. I have the Redneck Ram and their heavy duty tie rod and I absolutely love the setup. And you couldn't ask for nicer people than Matt and Lisa. Their customer service is some of the best in the business. Just say no to ARG! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here's mine, I used clamps on both ends so I could adjust toe real easy. This is before I installed the lines.

Thanks Guys!!
Jason - did WTO make longer hoses for you?

Shaggy - that is WAAAY too clean Let me know when the Maiden Voyage will be. "...a 3 hour tour...." LOL

I feel much better about the ram protection now.

Hey,
Where did you get that tie-rod clamp? That looks pretty nice and is much smaller than the MOO clamp I have.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yep, McMaster-Carr, like Jason said. Look here, scroll down to the 2 peice clamps. Not cheap, but still cheaper than the MOO ones and much nicer looking.

Excuse the ignorance, but what did you need the clamp on the ends of the tie rod for?

If you weld the tabs directly to the tie rod then you can only adjust the toe-in with full turns of the tie rod. With smaller tires that might not be an issue, but with 42s a full turn makes a big difference.

I don't think I'm following you... The Rockstomper tierod has no adjusting sleeve like the stock tierod has, so you have to turn the entire tube section in order to adjust the toe on it. Without the clamp you would have to disconnect the ram from the mount, then rotate the tie rod 360 degrees until the mount lines back up with the end of the ram again. With the clamp you can just loosen the bolts, adjust the toe, then tighten the clamp back down again.

Oh ok. Right now i've still got stock steering but when i replace my 1/2ton D44 with a 3/4ton D44, i'm stalling a homeade heavy duty rod(still need ends for it). But i won't be using a ram, so the clamps really aren't needed for me then huh?

Nope, nothing to mount to the clamps, so kinda pointless. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif If you're going to run a stock stabilizer then you can use something that's much lighter duty. Rockstomper sells one, but IIRC it's basically just a couple of u-bolts and 2 chunks of flat stock welded together.

No, the clamp is only for the hydraulic cylinder /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
