Yep. It's a Binder

Nice. Well, bummer on the axle but still, nice truck.

There used to be a red one rolling around here on 35's. I think it was stock or maybe just rearched springs or something. Guy sold it damn cheap a few years ago just due to folks not knowing what it was.

Just about as far south as one can. I-90 and Hwy 71. It's supposedly from Wyoming. It is very clean, why i got it. Couldn't find a decent chevy for the same money. So , screw it. I like being different anyway.

As far a lifting it. I 've been doin research on all the International boards. There isn't a whole lot of info out there specifically for the trucks ,travel-alls, mostly the Scouts.

With the little i have found out, i think Chevy stuff will pert-near be a bolt in affair.

The front springs are shorter, but there are provisions in the frame for the leaf springs of the 2 wheel drive truck. Making a 48" chevy spring bolt in, even keeping the wheel centered in the wheel well.

As for the rears, they are 52" or 51.6787987, which should pass as a 52".

Hey, I live on hwy 71... small world.

sweet truck btw.

Well it's long over due. Mostly because i went back to work and am just too lazy after work to do a whole lot. But i got the Chevrolet outers( Thank you Stomper) on the I.H. I've got a few things to do still.

1. Basically have to put all new, or different brake lines on it. The fittings are completly different from the 4 wheel drums to the frront discs. Have all the stuff from the 74 donor truck, just gotta switch it all.

2. Get the gas tank cleaned and installed.

3. Get a new Battery. Sucker ran great in April when i had it runnin last.:doah:

4. Eventually pu the lift on. But thats farther down the road. Wanna get it goin first. tired of looking at it.

Here's a shot of the hub. The International lockouts worked just fine. So no one will be the wiser. Especially the die hard I.H guys. My good friend ( who is a die hard I.H guy) was atleast glad the I.h lockouts were on there.:haha:

I know people that would give good money for that truck.....A friend of mines dad used to sled pull a 1 ton back in the late 70's and early 80's this body style, 392, 4 speed, 205, it was red, had 16.5x9.75 factory style steel wheels and 1200R16.5 directional bias plys......nasty truck.....

Update!

Well i finally had a turn of good luck. I found what i'm sure is the last remaing draglink for a 73 I.H in the country. Had it shipped from N.C.It sure looks like it's been sittin in the back storeroom since the early 80's:haha:.

Thats what i was waiting for. Got all the other little stuff done. Was just waiting on a steering part for a road test. Supposed to be nicer this weekend. I smell a road test this weekend.:saweet:

Well, I dicked with the carb. Got the draglink on. Besides the exhaust being in very poor shape. I ****ing love it. Huge relief to finally have it mobile again. Now on to the smaller things.I'll get some fresh pics up tomorrow. Gonna give her a wash.

Gonna have a few Grainbelt's, carve pumpkins w/the woman and work on my costume to celebrate.:D

Good to hear. We like pics.

My buddy's all gaga over the 60's Scout pickup on Craigslist here.

Well it looks like it did before. Tossin around the idea of puttin my 38's on right now. It's got 4:10 gears and 285's, but the sound of the engine is way different than a Chevy:laugh: . Not worries about sheetmetal cause i have sheetmetal to replace the front and i have a much better box to go on too. I gotta get the Tach hooked up and go from there.

I like it the way it sits. Well, fix the turn signal.

Definitely a cool idle. My buddy's '73 Javelin's 360 idles a bit differently than most folks are used to.

Got a few little things done today. Changed rear end oil and found these little marks on the teeth. Not real worried about it. But not real sure whats caused it. Any insight?

I always thought IH was the stuff when I was in high school. One of the cool teachers had one of these.

Friend of mine has a plethora of I.H stuff. I'll have to do a count next time i'm out there. He's got a right hand drive Scout 80 that i would lovr to get my hands on.

I helped him with this scout a couple winters ago.

Back in the day, all my g-pa would own was a Scout. He had a Travelall, Scout II, a Terra, and a pickup like that. That's all he ever trusted when he was working on the pipeline in Alaska.

Lemme know if the pics don't work but here's my buddy's Scout 800A. Not a lot that's stock other than the body and sorta the frame.

Maxed out on a 25 degree ramp.

Now with a roll cage.

He's trying to start a fab biz for IH's making custom suspension parts and other stuff.

The result of too much psi in the rear shocks. Luckily no one was hurt and it just flopped over onto the (newly installed) roll cage. His kids thought it was cool.:D:rolleyes:

Well i'm looking for a different rear axle now.:doah: Have a dually 70. Also have the axles from my parts truck in a 3:73 ratio. Which would be alright just gotta swap front and rear. But a friend of mine might have a bolt in 60 which would be nice. Just gotta get some time to do it now. Farmin is runnin late and my friend is Tiling like crazy so he's not around.

Sheesh it never ends, am i only one who wonders why they like working on prodjects.:rotfl:

Just picked up some new shoes for the Binder. Gotta wait to tomorrow and see how much i hafta trim to get 35's on it.:D

Pics to follow.
