you know what sucks?

Maybe you didn't read the part were I said I do make a living with them...last time I checked 150K a year IS MAKING A LIVING!!...I work on diesels in the oilfield....also work on wellheads in the Barnett Shale...not trying to start an argument...but come on let's don't turn this into the ol'..."nuh huh my tools are better than yours"...just stating that the expensive stuff breaks too...and for the price Craftsmen works good for me...I do havesome of the other stuff...but when it breaks and I can take it back on my way home...works better for me.

Check my post....never said the expensive stuff dont break.
Just stated the cheaper tools suck:D

Tool guys that don't make an effort to come to your place of work on days you dont work. The stupid ass matco guy comes in the beginning of the week when 1 shift isnt even there. Snap on guy comes twice a week, and the mac guy just doesnt come at all. I got matco stuff but man does that guy suck ass. snap on gets all my business due to that:mad:

We dont even have Mac or Matco anymore:mad:
Just as well. Matco hand tools are total garbage.

I always preferred Snap-On...just personal preference.
I like my tools to fit and work properly:haha:

matcos stuff ain't garbage, their new swivel sockets are the best in my opinion. they are a little $$$$$$ but they rotate 360 and don't bind up like the old pin style swivels do. for everyone that uses their tools everyday they deffinately appreciate the comfort grip handles that snap on is famous for. craftsman ain't bad for a homeowner but probably shouldn't be used on a daily basis, especially since i get 60% off on all snap on tools including bottom boxes! it pays to be a student sometimes:D

I have Matcos impact swivels as well as Snap-Ons.

The Matcos are nice.

Now if you read my post you'd see I said Matcos hand tools are garbage.

Impact swivels aint hand tools:doah:

I agree completely with that statement. I hate Craftsmen tools, even though I own some.

agreed. their rachets are uncomfortable and im not too big on their sockets either. there wrenches ain't bad, but i don't use my craftsman stuff everyday. thats why i got my snap on, mac, matco, and cornwell stuff!

All this talk about "Comfortable" tools...did you guys get your manicure/pedicure this week?:haha::haha::haha::haha:

I'm just messin' with you guys...if I could afford the comfortable ones I would have them asa well...now out to the Garage to use my junky tools to get after:D

Wife + College = lots o' moola spent on books, gas, daycare, twohouse payments one here and one in Puerto Rico and work truck and new car payment!!!...and rememer the part where I said that i'm cheap...Come on man...pay attention...BS?...I think not:shame:

Speaking of comfortable tools, What brand wrench do you like the hand feel of the best? I have a bunch of Snapons and find myself wrapping a rag around them sometimes if the bolts are really tight to ease the bite into my hand. The Matco's aren't as bad for me.

It's not that I'm a wimp or anything just the arthritis in the base of right thumb kicks my butt somedays.

Cornwell did redesign on the metrics and now are shaped like a snap-on and Matco's only the beam is thicker. Got a couple of those and I like the feel of them.

On the sears stuff sometimes the box end is so thick it won't fit in places. And they can break easily too. This part I really don't get, all I did was heat the nut red hot and them use a 3lb hammer to drive the wrench onto the nut and the box end broke:haha: The snap-on didn't break though. 12 point nuts and road salt= partially rusted away fasteners, so sometimes you hammer a 1/2 wrench onto a 13mm nut thats half gone.

working on Fords, most the time if its stubburn to get off I'm able to get my 3/8s impact in there on it.

Try driving a punch through the box end of several different brands of wrenches with a press. When we did it, the Snap On was the winner. On top of that, the Snap On guy comes to me, the Sears store does not. I also have some Mac, Matco, and Cornwell tools (along with some John Deere). Certain tools are better from one brand, and then a different brand will make a better one of another kind of tool. In the end, it is all personal preference.

My punches just fall through my box end :dunno:

:haha: I really have no idea what you mean here :doah:

You are going to have to use a bigger punch. Pretty simple test. You just need a hydraulic press with a pressure gauge. You drive the punch through the box end of the wrench until you split the box end, and watch the gauge. The Snap On required the highest pressure to split when we did it.
