If you don't mind me asking I was wondering how much you had to shell out for those Alcan springs? Did you look into getting them with the orbital eye's? Nice build by the way!

Is that the same Balistic springless arm that I have? It looks different. Maybe I got the wrong arm?

Grand total on the Alcans was $1,275 shipped. $1,100 for the springs and $175 for shipping. Took a little over a month to get.

Orbital eyes? On this truck?? No way man. It's not a crawler by any means. Maybe parking lot concrete bumpers, but that's it. No need for orbital eyes.

Mine is for highsteer and crossover. Yours looks shorter. If your doing crossover, shouldn't you have a longer arm? Thanks!

It has to feel good to be working on a/your truck again.:waytogo:

This is going to be sweet.:woot:

Drop a line if you want any help down there.

The arm is already pretty long. Yours is long just to allow space for the additional steering link. Nothin to worry about dude. :)

Looks like a great rig to start with. What color are you going to paint it?

Hey if that cummins still runs and you wanna get rid of it let me kno what your lookin at. I'm aching for abother diesel. Sorry Joe lol

Good day of progress. I got everything done that I set out to do. King pins rebuilt. Bronze bushings and spring-less arm/cap installed. Cross over installed. PSC steering box installed. 35spline stubs/hubs and new 5-806x joints installed. XJ shaft installed. It wasn't headache free though. My super duper IR impact gun broke a 9/16's wheel stud and totally destroyed the threads on another, along with the same two lug nuts. I was surprised to see that these lug nuts required a 1" socket and not the 7/8" I'm used to. Wheel seals were totally thrashed, so I had to replace those. Oh yeah, I forgot how much I love packing bearings. :flipoff1: And of course I couldn't find my hub nut socket and there wasn't one available to buy anywhere in town. 4 different auto parts stores. Fortunately, I have a buddy that owns a fab shop, and was able to borrow his.

Anyways, here's today's pictures-

The before and after difference in the steering is unreal. :eek1: Death wobble is GONE. Totally and completely eliminated. Absolutely zero play in the steering....It's almost weird to get used to. It responds just as fast as my '04 Nissan frontier. :woot:

Tomorrow I need to spend time adjusting the steering...I just tossed the drag link and tie rod on with out adjusting or centering the steering wheel or steering box, or anything else for that matter. Just eye-balled it and called it good....it was getting late and I wanted to drink beer. :haha:

Gonna paint the factory red again. Don't want to deal with painting door jambs and other small ****.

It's all yours bro, I won't be in the market for a doner truck for quite awhile.

This thread has lots of potential, bring on the cummins swap!

Hopefully sometime next year. :D

At first I wanted to do a Cummins conversion on my K30 too, I even have a 6BT/518/205 ready to go that could go in. But, there is something to say about a smooth running big block. After you get used to the feel of a pickup with a Cummins, then you jump into a truck with a big block, you realize how smooth with zero vibration they are.

Looks like good progress, Nice! It's going to be a beast. Glad to see those tires aren't 48s, I was worried you were building something kind of insane. By the way, aren't you putting those other springs in? Why would you spend time adjusting the draglink if you are swapping springs?
