yep, did some figuering, at 2700 miles, at 7mpg's average, it would be 387 gallons of gas, now if gas averages at 4.5/gal, that is 1740.00 bux...$1644 if gas averages 4.25/gal. Great deal in my eyes, especially for a 6pack dooooooley on 39" rubber...

Almost $1,900 isn't that bad when you consider what the gas would cost you currently.

Yeah couldn't fly out and drive it back for that price

When I found out what it was gonna cost to ship, I did all the figuring and scheming I could think of to come up with some way to do it cheaper. I even had a buddy volunteer to drive it out for me...I pay for fuel he pays for everything else.

After letting all that roll around in my head for a bit, I came to the same conclusions ya'all did. The cost is a wash, it would cost about the same regardless how it was done. It's the other stuff...hiring a shipping company is great because I don't have to worry about a 22yo truck blowing up somewhere in the middle of nowhere, no loooong, uncomfy drive in a 1 ton on Michelin tires with no A/C. No buyin plane tickets, nothin. All I do is cough up $1900, sit back in the air conditioning, drink screwdrivers and wait. :haha:

You got a smokin deal on shipping.

One of my instructors paid $1000 or so I think he said to ship a 55 chevy panel truck from Oklahoma or one of those other flat states that I cant remember, to Mn. Then again it was not running, just a rolling shell.

Holy crap I would drive it to ya' for that much! :)

I offered to do just that 2 months ago for $1400 when I didn't have a lot of work, but he didn't have the $$$ then.
:doah:
It's always like that, but at least now you will have the truck soon and then you will forget you spent that money to get it there.
You could have got it shipped cheaper if you had put some smaller tires on it and put those in the bed, and I DID offer to do that for you.:dunno:

How about you don't bother the man with what didn't happen 2 months ago. and move on to the fact that hes more than happy with when and how his truck will arrive in whereever the **** hes currently at.

and never mind the actual fuel cost, thats a ****load of unneccissay wear and tear driving a bigass 25 year old truck across the country.

The best offer I got on transporting my F350 crew cab on 35's from ID to MD was 1600, I think you got a good deal and plus you get your truck back :thumb:

love your truck. Would really like to find a good one and build it up like you are doin'.
I think I would put the 24v cummins in it or the Duramax, thats just me though.

Ya, you know as much as I love a good cummins. I think a duramax/allison swap down the road would be abso****ingloutly stellar.

As cool as a D-Max is, i'd still go with a 12v Cummins. It's hard to beat the combination of stupid simple and practically bullet proof. Although a crew cab on 39's is bad ass no matter what diesel is pushing it...

It's costing me a bit extra, but my truck is being picked up tomorrow in California and should be here in Georgia by the middle of next week sometime...woooo!! :pimp1:

Hope it makes it across the river:eek1:

My buddy just sent me this today-
