Just put the truck back in service from winter storage this past week, decided to do some upgrades on shocks and exhaust, and one of the batteries was leaking acid over the winter, so two new batteries as well. Chassis lubed, and oil change was done just before storage, and fuel filter shows 65% life left. Air filter only has a couple thousand on it.
thankfully no mice got into it over the winter, but I did catch 6-8 of em in traps set through on the barn.
The shocks are some KYB towing shocks, nothing special there. The batteries are from Blaines farm and fleet 650cca.
The exhaust is MBRP Aluminized w their quietest muffler. 16 ga. Pipes made in USA, but muffler made in china? I painted the hangers and clamps as they were raw steel, gave em a quick wash to get the oily film off, then a quick shot of rattlecan paint. Had to cut a couple inches off the over axle pipe to get it where I wanted it and alot of adjusting to get all the pieces oriented to give the best clearance throughout, and get the tailpipe level. Once I got everything in place, I put a couple stitch welds on each joint to hold them in position. I like the sound really well, I’ll see how it feels on the road on my next road trip.
One thing that came to mind, is there any need for any tuning to be done as this is a complete replacement from the down pipe back. I’m thinking not?
