Ifn' Ida had a bitch likin my scrote, I woulda give her my helmet!
At the Lazy Lizard I had reservations for a cabin Fri-Sun nights, I arrived Thur and my cabin was rented that night, so I got a single room in one of the houses...not a bad deal as I was the only one in the house that night. Friday am, Chris and I were headed up to BFE at 9am, and not returning until late afternoon at the earliest, so I asked if I could leave my soft bags and a couple other things somewhere until I could check into my cabin later in the day, and the desk guy said set them behind the check in desk....I did that, but when I came back in the afternoon, they had been moved to the lobby area (if you could call it that) and my helmet was gone. I didn't realize it until Sat as I didn't wear one locally in the little town of Moab. When I realized it I checked the room I stayed in, in the house, and around the office area, but it was too late.
So I asked around where I could buy a helmet, and there is a cycle shop on the north end of town, and I checked it out on Sunday, and the sign on the door said to call as they were close by, so I did. A cute petite little gal comes down to the shop to see if she has any helmets to fit my melon, and she didn't, but said she had one at the house that might work...well it did, for $50 it was quite comfortable too. A full face, with the lift up face...always thought they were kind of a goofy helmet, but it makes it easier to put on and off, and it was comfortable enough to get me home, so I bought it. After riding with it for 1500 mi. I like it as well as the other helmet I had.
I really want to thank Kert and Tracy....Rene' and Deb...Dean and Kris...Cole and Erin...Erik and Kristle...and Lawrence for the opportunity to stay and mooch off you all for a day or 4. It was awesome to meet you all for the first time (cept Erik) and enjoy your part of the world. The trip probably wouldn't have happened without your offer to bum a night or more at your place. For that I am grateful, and can only offer that if your ever in the great lakes area, you have a place to stay with me!
