Overview
This 1982 GMC K3500 popped up on Facebook Marketplace a few days ago. It was listed for the cheapest price I had seen for any K30 in the last year (or more), so I messaged the seller. He didn't get back to me for a couple of days so I figured it had sold. I decided to send one last Hail Mary message saying I'd buy it if he still had it. He got back to me last night and I picked it up this morning with my buddy Rob.
I wasn't looking for another K30, but the price was too enticing to skip. The intention for my other truck has always been for it to be a camping vehicle. It has the big ugly camper shell on the back of it and I intend to build a sleeping platform in the bed. This K30 will just be a regular old pickup truck that will be used for pickup truck things.
It's a total s***box but none of its problems made me want to pass on it. I am optimistic that it will be a good driver once I address everything it needs (and it needs everything lol).
The factory color code is something like "midnight blue" (I can't remember the exact code), but someone came around and tried painting it a green color. It sort of looks like the northern lights as-is so I'm considering calling it Aurora.
