Mostly stock rebuild.
Just read this thread. It says nothing about purchasing a lift kit.

Haha, I have the 1" body lift already. I need to buy the suspension lift still.

I'm undecided if I should do a 2 or 4 inch lift. Or just leave it alone with the 1" body lift.

Do a 1” body lift and a 1” zero rate.

I believe the LMC body mount kits might still be in back order, but they are a better kit than the poly kits.

Here's what I am worried about with a body lift for new mounts. This thing is suuuuuper rusty under the cab. I'm worried if it's going to be worth all the hassle of broken bolts, and loose captured nuts. This thing is eventually going to get a new cab, so the body lift/mounts may have to wait until then.

Rustier than this?

Spent some time this morning doing some TLC things on the truck. Got the turn signals working, replaced the broken passenger mirror, put the interior back together after the wire chasing, and painted over some of the graffiti. Going to get some paint matched silver at work to finish covering the other graffiti.

After that went for a little drive. It’s almost ready for DD use.

You work at a wrecking yard right? I'd be careful where you park it! :haha:

So when you getting back to the K5? It's getting lonely...

I have came out to inventory cones on the roof of my vehicles. lol

The goal was to get this one running and driving, so now it's time to focus on the K5. I have to start by getting my garage back under control.

Pulled the truck in tonight since it’s currently sleeting. Cool to see both squares fit in this garage.

Changed plugs and pulled the carb to clean. Truck wasn’t wanting to idle by itself very well. It runs and idles better now, but could still use some tlc to see why it won’t idle right.

Mine works perfectly on my big block. High idle sticks sometimes and sometime doesn't work other times but it starts and purrs like a kitten even when super cold.
That's what I miss about that '83 crusty truck. That q-jet ran perfect after for sitting 20 years in my boss's garage. Plus that truck got 19mpg putting to and from work at 50mph.
