Rear wheelwell tub work

I run a 2 1/2" lift with 35" tires. My rear tire rubs my wheel well when I am flexed out. I decide to tub in inward some to stop the rubbing. Here are some pics:

I painted fresh black before my last run to see where I rub.

I made a template of the body lines I want to follow

I cut it out with a 4" cut off wheel

I kept to top flange to have less welding

I folded the ends in the bench vise and it begins to take shape.

I tacked the bend in place...

... then welded it.

... both sides

... then grinded the welds flush. 1 down 1 to go. More pix to come...

I tubbed my old K5 for the same reason, but skipped the pain of making the tubs. I found another set of inner wheelhouses, and grafted them to the originals to gain an extra 4" on each side.

48" level on top of the new wheelhouses.

They are installed. I wanted to keep the back seat so I couldn't tub in as far as you did.

I took off the arm rest for more clearence. I gained about 1 inch.

Well, that would be a FAIL I need to fix. I broke the shock mount, welded a "quick fix" shock mount tab but didn't gusset it. When I got home after a weekend of wheeling the tab bent & looks like what you see in the pic.
I will fix it soon.

Yeah i had that happen to my k10. Let it get to the point where it oblonged the hole. What a mistake.

My mistake was I put shocks on it that were too long. I was thinking it would help let the droop out but I didn't think about the up travel. I hit an obstacle & bottomed out so hard I broke the mount.

Under the hood

Under the hood I have a 305sb with an oversize RV cam, Edelbrock 650cfm Thunder series Carb,K&N air filter, Hooker headers, dual batterys, 100 amp alt.
This used to have a 6.2 diesel motor in it but was swapped out by the PO. He found this little gem in a shop where this old timer built it just for fun. I can't believe how much power this 305 puts out.
I still have a huge radiator that was with the 6.2 diesel with 2 oil coolers.
I use 1 for my tranny cooler, any ideas what I should use the other cooler for?
I was thinking hydraulic steering assist...
