‘82 GMC “Junkyard JIMMY” {Build bash Rebuild}

That's what I recommend. Just make sure the grease zerks don't hit the C. I had one do that and I couldn't put any more grease in it because it was deformed. I don't know if I had the wrong zerk or what but it was sticking down too far. Just something to keep in mind.

I'm running junkyard front shafts, no new U joints or zerk fittings.

I did that once (ONCE!)with a Driveshaft Ujoint. I took it out and flipped it around and it was good.

I think the red paint will make them more stronger :D

That's just rust kill red. If it's still stock it gets rust kill black, slightly modified gets rust kill red. :D

So yes, if the red paint prevents rust it will make it stronger. :thumb:

They're just kidding. None of that would fit on the half ton front axle without serious modifications and custom work.

Well in that case Bazinga! It's not a 1/2 ton, it's a Dana 44 brah!

Not much progress, just cleaned up the outer C and pressed in the new Ball Joints.

...And it's raining.

I have lots off half ton Dana 44's.

The 35 spline joke was that you should get a Dana 60.

I haven't seen one in the junkyard yet.:D
I'll get one as soon as I can afford it.

I spent the last hour trying to get my mangled spindle bearing out. :doah:

What a pain in the arse!

Suprised you have this much carnage with 35s.

Maybe those chromos in my 10b were doing more than I though they were :haha:

I think that he runs junkyard shafts and joints is the reason for carnage.
IMO Paul, save for chromos and spicer joints and be done for a long while

My old 10 bolt never busted ball joints or spindle bearings.

I've only gone on 2 trips with this axle.

I'll be looking for a 60 and some hub caps soon.
