“Dylan’s” 89. Back at it!

I was referring to this from the tailgate latch thread, Haha! And I know your running tube doors.

Yeah, I figured that's what you meant. lol

The manual window crank lands in a different spot than the switches, I lucked up and found a decent set of manual panels at a u pull it.

Selling the bumper? I'm interested to see what you do.

I like the bumper I just wish it wasn’t the winch style. Seems to stick out too far. I want to pretty much copy it but with a swing out tire carrier. Saw this on IG. I don’t think he’s a member on here

I have grey interior. I’d like it to match.

According to the LMC catalogs the panels need to be from 81-91 year models.

Fyi, paint gun back order date has been pushed back to 01/23. :surepal:

I'm not in a huge hurry but I may shop around. I'm thinking they're not going to get any in at that price.

Just got her roughed in at the moment. Coming in at about 17 5/8” total with a HAD flange.

So one question, the rear output shaft has some play, meaning the whole shaft can slip in and out about 1/2” by pulling/pushing on the flange. Is this normal? Seems like something should be holding the shaft in more. It slips back into the shift collar easily.

Shouldn't have the in/out play like you're describing. Is the output shaft sliding or the yoke on the shaft sliding?

The whole shafts was. I just fixed it. There’s also supposed to be a bearing in that speedo housing :doah:.

I need to learn the shift positions because now It won’t engage rear low (I think). Rear shifter will come all the way forward (rear Hi), it’ll hit the middle detent (N) and it’ll hit the third detent (rear low) but it doesn’t engage anything.

Time to step away

It is an impressive piece, without a doubt. Hopefully you’ll learn from this thread and put all pieces back in the first time. Haha!

What are you thinking for a crossmember?
I honestly don’t have a clue, except I know it should be supported on a single x-member. I’m a visualizer.
I won’t know what I’m going to build untill its sitting in there and I can look at it.
