'10 JK build (flame away)

Well somewhat finished up my steering, need to do some gussets on my draglink to tierod mount. Also need to redo my front track bar. Gonna do that tonight i hope and this weekend i want to knock out the y pipe and get the first belly pan crossmember in.

Well ive been swamped at work, balanced my 35s found my ball joints are damn near worn out. Waiting on some c gussets to get here. Was screwing around the other day and ripped off both rear shock mounts some how. So decided to out board them with some extra steel I had laying around.

I'm happy with how it turned out. Still got alot more to do to get it back on the road and wheeling in the hammers.

Do a lot of people cut into the frame like that? I suppose that metal is probably much thicker than what is used on the frame.

On a JK, hell no lol. TJ/LJ yeah it's common. If I hadn't already raised the floor out back I would have been building panels to cover the top of the towers. Gotta remember not many people who have JK's are willing to cut into them lol.

It changed the ride completely, probably more from the angle of the shock being only leaned back instead of back and inwards like the factory style set up. Up front i do need to fix the lower shock mounts to allow a freer range of motion.

Well knocked out the c gussets, ball joints, and track bar this weekend, and god damn i love the way it handles. Puts a new stock JK to shame and I don't run sway bars.

Whoops also remade my transmission crossmember out of 2x2 .250 wall. Still need to finish gusseting the trans plate, drill my holes for my threaded bungs for the belly skid to connect to it. Need to pick up some square tubing for my engine/trans skid I want to build. Also picked up some steel to finish my corners. Going on leave but have to stay locally because of my MEB. So I'll get a lot of work done over the next few weeks. But I'm chipping away at the to do list and should be out wheeling the hammers in no time.

Picked up some stuff, I've came up with a good way to do the engine/trans skid, hopefully it will be pretty nifty.

Well finished my belly pan just about. Need to make the piece that goes under the oil pan and counter sink one hole some more. The skid itself is 1/4" 6061-t651 aluminum, buddy gave me a good bit of some for building a front bumper and some step bars for him.
