'10 JK build (flame away)

I've got a training thing to go too but after that I'll start gathering parts to go flatbelly

Not good news, I got in a wreck Sunday afternoon and it broke the front axle housing. I'm pretty sure there isn't any frame damage, or minimal damage. But I'm trying to work out a deal with the body shop to let me upgrade a couple things to save some money here and there and spend more on some other stuff instead of putting stock new OE parts on it. I refuse to let them put a used housing under it because of how prone to blending these housings are. Hopefully the adjuster will understand.

Why take it to a body shop then? You have the right to be paid for the damages and accept the vehicle back damage. You're the one in charge here. Dont negotiate with them and dont let them infer you have to take it to their shop etc.

Also you have the right to hire your own third party insurance adjuster!

Its a body shop I chose and I helped make the estimate thru the body shop. No one was found at fault so my insurance is paying for it. I'm pretty sure I will all pan out. The bumper on it is $800 new and the one I would like to have is $450. The front axle if I just get a housing for it is $2050 new from Jeep, and $2200 new from dynatrac. So it all depends on if they put a new Rubicon front axle under it or a housing. If they do a new axle I'll just truss and gusset it, but I'd like to have the dynatrac housing.

So I'm getting a brand new front axle, hopefully getting a poison spyder BFH front bumper. Looks like everything went into my favor, and should have it back when I cone back from a training exercise in September.

Update: I will be installing the Poison spyder BFH bumper because the body shop doesn't want to touch it. Not a big deal, and also will do the sliders. I have already fold the old front diff and still have the 4.10 r&p along with the locker actuator sense to sell. Right now I'm doing some Army things and will be busy for the next couple weeks but will hopefully pick the jeep up in a week or so. I'm just ready to get it back so I can start making it a flat belly.

My only critique is for the misuse of the ' symbol in your build title.

When abbreviating a date (like 2010) the ' is used to replace the missing numbers. So in this case '10 used used to represent 2010.

10' is the abbreviation for "10 feet" which is clearly not what you intended here....

This isn't a dig at you personally. I see is one a lot around here, but is a pet-peeve of mine so I try to help people understand the correct usage when it happens.

My bad lol

How does one get in an accident where no one is at fault?

He's in Cali. It must have rained a week before or after the accident,or the sun was out.

I'm still looking for the 10 ft Heep.

Where were the wheelin pics taken at? The background looks familiar.

We have the Act of God clause here as a no fault wreck. Basically a way for insurance companies to do half the work and fight with their respective customers vs the other drivers insurance companies. And the police get to do half the paper work as well. So its a win win for everyone except the drivers in the wreck.

A couple at Calico and some at cleghorn. I have yet to go to big bear. And I need at least 35s before I go to the Hammers

Finally picked up my jeep. I need to put some nutcerts in the passenger side fender and bolt that rock slider on. Also I need to paint my front bumper, cut off the factor bumper mounting pads, cut off the crash bar, and bolt the new poison spyder customs front bumper on it. I'm really tempted to hold off and wait till I buy a synthetic winch cable before I put my winch back on the front.

I know what you guys mean with the "inside the box" Jeepers. That's pretty much anyone with a newer vehicle. They have the money to spend but little to no creativity or know-how. I'm talking about the people that go to shops to have a cold air intake installed because those 3 bolts are really scary! :surepal:

I know a guy with a JK on 35's with no lift. Just cut and hammered and modified what had to be done. Put the rest of his money into gears and lockers. Says a lot of the "inside the box" guys think it's crazy he didn't lift it.

My wife just bought a '14 Rubicon 4dr. It will be our "good" vehicle and one will use on Colorado trails. I like jeeps but last week I went wheeling with a bunch of them and the leader was a asshole. We left early because of all his under his breath statements.

Yeah I love my jeep and my k5 but jeep people think they are the best off road period. It's annoying. I had a lead on some 35x12.50 old school MT/Rs but the asshat pissed me off and I told him to shove the tires up his ass. Why do you put something on craigslist and say well I don't really gave to sell them? Weird ass people in California. Side note had some great double IPAs at yardhouse lol

Got a set of 35/12.50 MTR w/ Kevlar for $200 and they have about 30-35% tread left. They will work for a few wheeling trips before I buy new ones. Plus I'm checking for clearance with them so I can decided between 37s or 35s. Wheels and valve stems will be here Friday. I've got a poison spyder BFH bumper to put on tonight. Also I'm selling off old misc. **** that I don't need anymore. Debating on selling my free to me warn Ti9500 and getting a m8000 with synthetic rope.

Still have to drill the plates and counter sink the holes, wire up the resistors and harness, and still the body for the nutcerts.
