14 Bolt SF 8 lug to 6 lug, easy to change?

FYI, I'm running the 9/16 studs from a 3/4-ton on my 6-lug and they are really long. I even had a 1/4" wheel spacer in there with alloy wheels for a while and there was lots of thread sticking out. I think all they won't work with is stock steelies.

Does it help if I take any measurements from mine? It was an 8-lug that I converted to 6. I can't help much with the alignment of the drums since I'm running disc.

Yea, if you could get the measurement of the backing plate mounting surface to backing plate mounting surface, that would be great. It's the 54-1/2" measurement. Thanks!

If you need some measurements I have a 9.5 you can look at It's burried under some other axles.

I had originally bought it for my wifes burban, but we are going to sell it and I may not need a 6 lug SF 14 anymore. I got it apart and it needed bearings, spiders, so I stopped the build.

Thanks Brad, let me know what you have when you get a chance. After looking at mine, I see some pitting on the bearings and also some pitting on the spider gears.....so I don't think the stuff I have is ideal for keeping. I did get an extra set of spider gears while I was out there so those "may" be OK. Hopefully the ring and pinion are still good. Everything else, I'm assuming, needs to be replaced.

I am trying to use the more narrow rear axle dimension found on the 2wd ones vs. the 4wd ones. thanks!

If nothing else, I will probably hit the yard again on Saturday to see whats out there.
