1939 Truggy tear down, NOW BUILD THREAD

That 216 is not a desirable motor unless your doing a complete restoration for that era truck, it is splash oiled among other drawbacks.

If you haven't done it yet, post an add for it on the stovebolt page before you scrap it please. I'm sure someone there would take it for parts.

X2 on posting the old parts including motor and anything else mechanical on the Stovebolt page. www.stovebolt.com

Pass the stuff on brother...you'll be making someone very happy.

Thats why I can not get rid of it. It has been advertised everywhere including Stovebolt.com. No takers at $200 for the rolling chassis.

As long as you tried first, I won't hold it against you if it does end up being scrapped. I know you have $100-200 worth of scrap metal at todays prices in that rolling chassis.

Dumb question but got any idea on the specs/year of the tractor? Used to drive a very similar one on a golf course.

Cool. Ours was a '50 or so if I remember correctly. Does it have the throttle plate thingy with the lever and all the notches? Was scary fast driving down the road from one course to another.

Yes. The high speed wobble and lack of brakes keeps my speeds down. I have a friend in California who has a V8 flathead in his. It is street legal and he drives it to car shows.

Schweeeeet.

Ours actually was pretty good on the road but the turf tires' drone would put you to sleep if you weren't careful.

this thing is gonna be awesome! I've been thinking of looking for an older chevy to use like this now finally someone is doing it. I can't wait to see what it looks like

This is too expencive @$7000 just for the complete cab. and where it has power windows and a bunch of other goodies makes it unsuitable for a buggy. OH and its fiberglass. BUT I get wood just thinkin about the possibilities.
