1951 Willys wagon - Dads toy It Runs and Drives now !!!

So, wow, it's been quite some time since I've updated this :doah:

I've been knocking some stuff out lately and finally making some progress on this thing :D

The body is finally back on the frame for the last time, the underside is done in Al's liner, suspension and shocks are done, steering system is mostly done, front swaybar is done, drivetrain is just about all there and fuel system is in and plumbed. I buit a Y pipe yesterday (2.5" mandrel bends into a 2.5-3" Y ) and will finish up the rest as soon as some parts arrive.

Thank you ! I'm really happy with the way the exhaust is coming together, getting to hear it run is my big motivator right now!!

Looking good!

Thanks !!

Is this one going to get EFI?

Martin

Sadly ....no.....at least not yet .

Such nice work!! :waytogo:

Thank you

Josh, what's the color you used to paint the axles?

Brian, the axles, sway bar, shocks, and steering box are all hammered dark bronze.

WOW, nice build and what talent! I wish mine looked like that! I am doing alot of work though. sbc 383 rated @ 550 h/p, 700r4, Dana 300 with twin stick, Autometer Phantom Gauges, new interior, one ton axles, w/ lockers, hydra assist steering and hydro brakes, discs all around, front 4 link with King coilovers, crossover steering. Also used Artec high steer arms on the d60 for the high steer.Removed the side exhaust and installed new headers and brought the exhaust through 2 flow masters out behind the rear wheels. Still working on it but almost done !It does sit on a k5 Blazer frame for you chevy fans !We also cut off the low hanging front frame horns and built a new boxed section to house the Warn M 15000 lb. winch.

That......... my friend is BADASS !!!!!:waytogo::pimp: just pure coolness !!!!!!!

Thanks Josh, coming from you , It means alot. I would like to know where you got some of your sheet metal. I do have some rust, not much but I would like to replace it. It looks like you did your own floor pans and tunnel even though some companies remake those parts.I'm more interested in the part you replaced right in front of the front doors down low. Here is a pic. of what I'm talking about.By the way, how do I get my son to have this talent you have and to do the work you have done to my wagon ? LOL !

Thanks for the compliments
Let me check with the old man as to where he ordered some of the metal from, I do know the area behind the door, essentially the front bottom corner of the 1/4 panel, we could not find a patch panel and I made that from scratch....it was a pita :D . A lot of the sheetmetal panels that are out there are mediocre at best, the stampings just aren't as "sharp" as they used to be and the body ridges just don't match up right.
