1968 C10 DD, project "New Tricks"

This kit looks cool, but its the clip on style and not the screw on style like the one you posted.

Damn, I already bought one filter and an extra filter for later. It's odd, Summit doesn't seem to sell the clip style, only the screw on style.

Perfect! Been staring at these for the last hour haha.

Sweet, I can get the adapters that attach to the filter and find the two adapters up on the fuel rail. Should be all the same style adapters. WOOT

One more male for the return line coming off the engine, no?

Engine side has one male and one female I think. Not sure of the sizes.
Filiter has one male 3/8 and two female 5/16 & 3/8
I think

No bro, Using the vette filter/regulator is for when you have a returnless fuel rail. Which is, a fuel rail with only one fitting. Its a 3/8. Return style fuel rails have the fuel pressure regulator built in and therefore dont need the vette regulator. Does your fuel rail have one or two fittings?

So you will have it like this, THe line on the left goes from filter out, to engine. THats it. The two lines on the right are the 3/8 feed line from the fuel pump, and the 5/6 return line back to the tank.

If you had a return style fuel rail, you would not need to regulate the fuel pressure down with the vette regulator and you would use a normal TBI style filter.

I'm gunna need to post some more pictures of the engine side fuel system. It has two hard lines going up the driver side of the engine. At the engine, one line stays metal and into the rail. The other line turns into plastic and continues into a plastic thing at the front of the intake. The thing also has an electrical connection.

The one with the electrical connection, is this the EVAP or whatever sensor for the gas tank?

And thank you very much for that explanation. I thought the two lines from the filter went TOWARDS the engine. But it makes way more sense for the bled off pressure to return back to the tank LOL

Black plastic "hard line" on the top of the engine that runs to the front. The hell is that? Can I pleeeeeez throw it away?

Can I remove the EVAP and track down a block off plate? (is this also part of the VATS setup)

Thanks man!

Also, is there a clip or something for the line on the left. I see the "teeth" inside the filter portion that hold it, but is that it? The rail has a similar connection with "teeth" on the hose, but it still uses a little clip. .......Just wanna make sure if I need one that it comes supplied with the Russell fitting.

Yea the teeth grab onto the ridge. You need ac line tools to remove them once clipped in. Onthe rRussell fittings, they clip on too but you just pinch the plastic tabs to get them to release there teeth from the ridge. And yes, just remove the evap thing and tell your tuner you are removing emissions components. Just like 99% of swappers.

LOL
What is this for? It fell out of a box of gaskets. Which box of gaskets you ask?... Dunno :( I just know it was engine related. I've replaced intake, lifter valley, and valve cover gaskets. I didn't see a use for it :(

Pretty sure that's for the oil cooler block off plate on the drivers side of the oil pan above the filter
