1968 c30 "Papa Smurf" prerunner build. links, beams, and turbo

I have the same straps and they do stretch. Now I'm thinking of running a second set. Are the ruffstuff Assvalt ones any better?

getting ready to start wiring this thing and I want to run everything seperate on switches with fuses and a relay. So I drew up this wiring schematic to see if my thought process is right. I am no electrician or wiring guy and I'll be the first to admit. But this truck deserves not to have 8 power wires wing nutted off the battery post to power everything.

So any thoughts on my diagram? Appear to be correct?

Looks right, what are you trying to run with that? Or is it a generic diagram for all your accessories?

Looks good. Why the ground on the switch? Are you running lighted switches? I would incorporate a mega fuse or a resettable breaker coming off your battery in case a cable shorts out to something.
Like this..upload_2017-6-29_7-40-33.jpeg they come all the way up to 500 amp I think. Or you could do one like this if it is a smaller load...upload_2017-6-29_7-42-1.jpegI typically see them around 100 amp or so.
Also I like to do battery kill switches on the negative cable...I think it's safer but I am not sure which is really the correct way.

When I rewired mine, I ran everything through a 70 mega fuse.

Funny story, when I first got it running I had a 35amp fuse in there as a place holder and forgot about it. Also forgot I wired it that way all together. I drove it around for a few days and everything worked great... obviously pulling less than 35amps. Queue me having to go pick up a trailer (more lights) and taking too long and running at night (headlights). I'm going down the road, obviously pulling really close to 35amps and I turn on the wipers and sprayer to clean the windshield and boom! lose all power.

Being as I'd just rewired the whole truck, I immediately jump to the conclusion that I've royally screwed up the wiring so I call a buddy to come tow me home. Yup, just the fuse. Put the right sized fuse in there and I've never had a problem since... Other than my buddy, who's a Ford guy, constantly giving me crap about how he had to come rescue my Chevy. :doah:

Generic diagram for accessories. I need to wire my fuel pump and 2 trans fans for now is all. More will be added down the road

Yes switches have an led indicator light on them so need ground for light to work.

And I have now been told by multiple people to put a inline fuse on the battery cable wire like the ones you posted so I will do that.

12v guy makes some nice prefab wiring setups, as well as someone that Shawn uses.

All the breaker/switch panels showing up prewired would be a huge time saver. Just a thought.

Truck looks great!

Towing it to get tuned?
Well that was the goal. I took last week off work. Only slept 18hrs the whole week and aside from Tuesday (4th of July) I was in the shop thrashing on the truck to make it to an event at a motocross track which happened July 8th. I had a tuner lined up to meet me at the track and tune my truck so I could hop in it and see if I could run it in the time trials. So I showed up and found the dude and when I found him it was about noonish and he was completely hammered already and a complete asshat. After 5 minutes talking to him I literally just turned around and walked away from him. So still working on tuning. Got introduced to another tuner who was at the event and he seems much more on board and is local to me so hoping that works out.
