1968 c30 "Papa Smurf" prerunner build. links, beams, and turbo

Yupp. My jaw horse is probably the most used tool in my shop.

I should clarify, I'm not knocking it, I actually have one of those things, works pretty decent, used to use it all the time.

I haven't used it in years since I got an actual vice. I just don't see them very often so a camera clamped to one is funny.

What are the main goals to accomplish this winter?
Originally it was turbo and bypasses up front, but time and money made me start re thinking my plan.

Now get it road road legal, collect spares, and perfect what I have.

I’ve been collecting spare parts to reduce downtime next season. Currently I have for spares 3 power steering pumps, 1 water pump, 1 third member, 1 trans(needs manual valve body and built yet), 2 snouts, 2 hubs, handfuls of bearings and seals.

I’d like to get some spare axles, another 9” housing, D shaft, Motor, Electric fans, and Trans cooler yet for it.

Other then collecting spares I need to service my 9” with new bearings and seals. My trans now is going back to trans guy to just get a post season check up and stamp of approval for another season.

As far as perfecting the truck and making it road legal. Lower front shock mounts, mount hood, all new coils(want to try some new rates), rebuild my shocks new oil and seals also gonna make a valve adjustment while in there, bedsides, lights, put windshield and back window back in, powder coat suspension and steering, tear truck down to frame and do a weld inspection and want to add more bracing to certain areas and then start rebuilding again and shred 2018. I made 14 dune trips with the truck last season from end of July to Oct 31st. Season is April 1 to oct 31. Gonna see if I can switch those numbers on my trip total next summer.

Last trip up rolling over a peaked hill probably 10ish mph 5 foot drop off and plowed the bumper into the sand and shoveled up into the grille and bent it. fenders were just in the garage. Didn't want snow all over the fiberglass.
