1968 Vette build for the Mrs

Yeah Dave, still factory t shifter. I know the pattern, it just won't go to the left. I thought that piece in the picture looked like it was broken... We like the t handle and I'll be rebuilding it. Just wasn't sure if the mount (that bolts to the tranny crossmember) needs replaced. I'll be pulling it out tomorrow and give it a good look.

image.jpeg I haven't bought parts in years but Eckler and Corvette America were good parts suppliers years ago.
Here is a pic of the shifter tool

That's pretty slick. I've got an ecklers catalog, and the dude we bought it from got the front clip from there.

May need the info on your buddy that builds the rear diffs too, this one's leaking and should probably be gone through before we send a bunch of hp it's way...

Is that a factory tri-power setup you are removing?

Are you going to set the fuel system up to run on E85?

No, it's got a offenhauser dual quad setup with some 450 cfm holley's. The EFI we bought will handle e85, so if pump gas won't cut it, we'll run e85 until I swap heads and drop the compression a bit.

That engine sounds pretty mean, quick throttle response!
That's what is thought. I'm really anxious to hear it with quality fueling (and the side pipes on it). PO had #2 & 7 plug wires crossed too, so the resulting backfires had us pulling an Archer (cartoon, not dog), lol.

Made some progress when I got home tonight. Ripped the old intake off. Looks the a previous owner drilled/helicoiled the holes in the heads for that intake :doah: Still haven't confirmed that they are actually L88 heads, but I'm sure that doesn't help their value... Also, I'm not positive if the new intake I bought shares the bolt angle. Dammit.

But, also found gigantic stud girdles. This thing was built to make some ponies I guess!

Also, pulled the shifter and mount out. It is indeed broken, as well as split and twisted at the front. I'll be replacing that...
