1971 K10 Custom/10 Tons\LSX

Just another picture. Been daily driving this for about 3 weeks, fixing something everyday
-Lost an exhaust hanger so I decided it was time for new mufflers. Threw on some spintech 9000s. It’s loud and raspy now like an LS should be. I love it. I’ll try to upload sound clip.
- Been trying to get the idle set correctly. Sometimes it will surge or idle high. Cleaned IAC and reset the idle. It’s still funny sometimes
-Constantly fixing lights. They all work again
- New speedo cable
- changed fuel filter and pump
-burned a spark plug wire.

-Regreased all the hubs. Aligned the best I could. Packed kingpins with washers. Still has a little shimmy in front end. Low speeds it can’t deceide which way it wants to pull.

Also orderd a Yukon locker for the rear. It has a spool right now and I’m tired of people mugging me when I take corners

So I had always had the plan of finding a nicer body for the blue truck. Just so happened I found a complete truck set up alsmost identically. The blue truck has found a new home and the orange one will replace it. I’ll post a link once I start another thread the the 1972 Cheyenne!!

That orange and white can’t be better. My buddy has one the same colours I borrowed for about a month. Very cool!

Not much of an update but ol blue came home. Short lived .....sold it before I unloaded it off the trailer, actually to the guy I bought the orange and white Cheyenne super from. It’s been a big revolving door as the the guy I sold blue originally now has the orange truck

Update of this whole deal. When I got the truck back from Illinois were it was owned for a couple years, it needed a lot. I think it was drove and not maintained very well.
First thing was the motor had a terrible lifter tick/squeal, and drove like the drivetrain had 100k more miles on it. I noticed these things but figured I’d just fix it back up. Before that could be assessed, my buddy Brian took it home. He spent the last 2 months working on it, going through everything.

-Every axle seal, and all bearings
-The bell was lose from the motor and ruined the clutch, new clutch and pilot bearing
-I gave him a junkyard 5.3 that was good, that was swapped in place of the ticking 5.3 that was in there.
-4 new calipers and pads, master cylinder

By this point I think he was just tired of working on it and offered it back to me. I didn’t hesitate and took it back home.
Last night I dropped the pan and put new gasket on to fix a oil leak, water pump was leaking. Replaced that, currently it’s not getting heat, thinking I have air trapped in the system still. Or this motor has a bad headgasket.
I plan to fully rebuild the 5.3 I had in it before and swap that back in eventually
