1971 K10 Custom/10 Tons\LSX

Day off means, truck work!
Tossed the front clip back on today. Started buttoning things up on the motor. Threw in a 4 core radiator and fired it up. Open headers were way loud. I'm not even excited to drive it with open headers

The parts truck the headers came from had some sweet 45* side pipes. Unfortunately I bolted them on for the time being

Looks pretty

Oh got all the ORD braided brake lines on. Began to bleed the brakes......blew a hole in the main line on frame. I swear that happens every time I work on these old trucks!

I haven't read this whole thread yet so I don't know if you found a U-Joint yet or not.

I just installed a Precision 348, can be had at O'Reillys or Napa for $25ish. It's a 1310/1350 conversion joint.

I grabbed a precision 348 which if I'm correct is actually a 1330/1350

I need a 347 1310/1350

348 is a 1310/1350.

That is what I used on my 1310 rear driveline with my 1350 14FF yoke.

Gonna use the same one on the front when I roll the 60 under.

at least that happened while bleeding and not running down the road. :eek1:

348 did the trick. Not sure if I or the parts guy messed it up but I had u joint 448

Replaced the brake line last night, bled everything out. Got the driveshafts hooked back up with new u joints.
Back on 4 wheels, need to find a few more lug nuts and align the steering. Getting close to driveable again.

I did end up ordering a flowtech exhaust kit w/o mufflers. Hopefully the kit works out and I can run some full exhaust on it. Anyone ever use a kit like that?

Drove the truck to work on Friday. Drives pretty good, got a little wobble when on the brakes real hard. I'll try an alignment and maybe space the kingpins out with a washer or 2 to tighten them up.

Found a chrome bumper, and an original polished grill since someone had painted mine. I'll get them straighten out and cleaned up this week.
While I was getting the bumper I asked the guy if he had any hubcaps. Sure enough we found 3 of them. One was already cut for 60 hub. So I picked the roughest cap I had and cut it out for 60.
Then for the rear caps. Since the 69-72 caps are chromed brass and people want way to much for cracked caps. I took a set of stainless 73+ caps and popped the center out and painted them blue

Threw a couple cheap thrush mufflers on it. Has basically full exhaust dumped right before the axle.

Those look like they might be contoured for the '81+ bumper.

Truck looks awesome.
