1972 Cheyenne Super K20- -LQ4/NV4500

Trying to come up with crossmember ideas for the NV4500 to sit on.

ORD sells this kit for $55 for a trac bar crossmember. Thinking it could work good for the trans crossmember. Anyone have any opinions on this?

What are you using for the clutch master cylinder and line to mate up with the internal slave?

McLeod makes a 4an line with quick connect to for that slave. That then is adapted to my Willwood .700 master

I wonder how hard it would be to adapt to a stock squarebody master cylinder. I'll be swapping in a similar internal slave nv4500 when I do the 8.1 swap on mine.

With stock square hydraulic pedals it should be easy. Determine threads on master and get matching 4an adapter fitting, use this same McLeod line and done

Bingo! Thanks!

Had a buddy drop off a 32 spline NP208. Turns out it’s cracked. This will be good for mock up and getting the drivelines figured out.

I recall seeing somewhere I could swap inputs on the 208? Say I find a 27spline one, I could swap the 32 spline input shaft? Anyone done this

Yup mine is swapped from a 27 to a 32

It’s super easy. My 241 is a 27 that was swapped to a 32.
The 208 should be even easier (the 241 has a bearing year change that can screw it up).

Any ideas for a shifter on the 208? Looks like factory one is floor mounted. Looking like the floor mount and cover wouldn’t fit on my high hump next to the nv4500 boot.

Nice. Few options. No idea how I’d know how long of cable I need tho :dunno:
Little extra cable stuffed under the cab won't hurt. I would say put it all in (tcase). Once your all set then measure for a cable and order.
You want nice sweeping bends.

Jon at JB Fab is very helpful. Also I believe @Kay86K5 had this shifter before he went twin cases.

Yeah, when I had a SYE 241 in my blazer I had this single cable shifter from JB Fab. Was vary happy with it (in fact, that tcase and shifter are now in my brothers 78 K5 after I went titan box/205 with triple sticks, and both still working flawlessly). I went with a 48" length cable and it was good for my uses. However, I didn't mount mine on the floor. I had mine mounted on a little stand that I build to replace the consul. If you want to mount it to the floor where a normal t-case shifter goes, you could probably get away with the 36" cable. But I'll echo what @beags86 said, it's always nicer to have a longer cable and make it work than having a shorter cable.

Thanks. Once I know I have a good Np208 and everything is in place I’ll order one!

Working on making the crossmember. Hopefully make the real metal cuts tomorrow in some 2x2
