1972 Cheyenne Super K20- -LQ4/NV4500

Add a set of high flow cats or a set of race bullet resonators to tone it down some.

Dead cylinder.....wasn’t throwing a code, I knew it had a something going on. Turns out it wasn’t just the carb, and then wasn’t just the tune. Swapped coils, wires, plugs, going to swap around some injectors next. May come down to a stick lifter or valve unfortunately. With the big cam it’s not easy to find, only missing under a load

Just bad ground issue. Tip for LS swaps. You can never have enough grounds :doah:
Mine started running like shit a while back. I just had the chance to look at it today after being gone for 12 weeks. I started tugging on wires and got the f shocked out of me when the coil wire fell off.

Problem solved:D

It’s nice when it’s easy.

Been fighting a miss off and on. I’ve done everything I can think of other than valvetrain. Maybe a lifter sticking? Either way I ended up buying back a LQ4 that I put together. Going to swap it in instead of pulling this 5.3 apart. 00AF753C-FFCA-4C5F-B139-DD5A9312E90D.jpeg

Put some time in on the el Camino LS swap yesterday so today was free for the truck. Pulled the overly cammed 5.3 out and put in a stock 6.0 that I had gone though the top end on. Motor has new gaskets a few things. Still tempted to put a BTR torque cam in it F39A8172-47A6-40F6-BB68-9FB6CD3537E5.jpeg

Here’s the plugs I pulled out of 5.3. They had one trip to town in them. 50 miles tops. 1A039D29-D7F4-47B3-B3D4-80074783BBBE.jpeg

So as soon as I read about this new Brian Tooley cam I knew I needed it. Got one of them coming, a new fuel tank, and also an aluminum radiator to move that top hose to the passenger side! 92E26DC8-3807-4B7D-A905-D2C01F1E1342.png
