1973 K10 : Chloe

1973 K10 offroad build
Signed on for the 8.1 goodness.

Man that’s a pile of sketi for the harness, you got way more patience than I do. Even for a cheap sob like me the time spent was something I didn’t have so I paid for a new harness built by pros. But if you got the time it’s a huge savings. Plus you’ll know every stinking inch of the harness.

Should be pretty fun once it’s up and running. Which accessory drive setup are you running?
I'm using the alternator on the "left upper side" one.
I'm going to try to adapt in a Kodiak (LEFT hand A/C) bracket, to the right hand side, so I can have AC. Parts are so hard to find

Oh, and just an FYI.
Doing a build this way is extremely $$$$ money intensive.
Thing is nickle and dime-ing me to death.
Mostly because every little bracket and harness connector has to be shipped in. Shipping, many times, has been more than the part.
Summit racing is on my shitlist right now, because of that.
I blame.our government!
**** organized political parties!

Preaching to the choir brother. Nothing with an 8.1 is cheap. I can’t imagine doing that in canuckistan.

TH400, I bought from Imiceman44, it had been professionally rebuilt, and was just sitting in his garage. So he sold it to me.

Solid drivetrain!
I was joking about the almost everything a guy could want.

I like a third peddle. But can’t beat the th400. Good choice.

I wanna go with 5.38's in the tons, but, with it maybe seeing some daily driving, that may be a bit steep

I had 3 different dipstick tube, all well used, but, would still work, or, so Ithought.
I couldn't got any of them even close to going in the TH400.
Just wouldn't go in to the hole...
I gave up after several weeks of frustration.
Bought a new one, with a locking dipstick. Then it didn't want to go in either! WTF.
I applies a small amount of red grease on the end of the tube, and inside the rubber tophat seal.
Then, I gave it the rubber mallet assist. Dropped right in. **** that thing! Pulled out the closest bell-housing bolt, and went to town.
Then, today, my package from Wally-world shows up. A pair of 3/8, braided stainless steel lines with fittings for the tranny cooler. 36 inches long, perfect!
Who'd of thought you can get stuff like this from wally-world?
Free shipping, yes, it took 4 weeks, but, what doesn't anymore.

I found this laminated wiring diagram for the 73. It is very basic, and has no provisions for the fully electronic 496 residing in Chloe, right now.
But, it's a start, and easy to read. I can add relays where I need them.

Chloe's new DIY4X Motor mounts.
The BEEF!

Whats cool, is that the solid motor mounts I've got from Jegs, are supposed to be the strongest offered, by anyone.
Even at they're thickest points, they're only 3/16".
These baby's are 1/4" all the way around. And the poly bushing, coupled with the 9/16" bolts. I'd hate to see what it take to break these.

Nasty, after running all through together, then individually, the Seafoam is so hot, i cant dip me fingers in it anymore.thats the mung from 8 injectors, that were cleaned on the outside with brake cleaner prior to the Ultrasonic cleaner with Seafoam...toxic waste, now.20220717_115607.jpg
