1974 K10 Dirty Sancho

Saved from cruel and unusual punishment
Actually my reservation about doing it is that I like driving the C10; easy to get in and out of and easy to load/unload the bed.

Very good reason. Mine was more of a need for 4x4 so I didn`t get stuck around the farm. I had a 81 d150 Dodge 2x4 for years that I was constantly getting stuck, but it sure drove nice! We called it Smoothie!:haha:

The more I look at your thread, the more I think about doing this with the 73 a few years in the future.
Then you would have to get different badges for the fenders. Who needs all that work?

the urge was present as soon as I bought it.

Keep it stockish on smaller tires. To me, the 35’s on a 4” lift is pretty easy getting in and out of.

Yeah but you're 6' something and I'm 5' nothing much. :rotfl:

I have thought it would be really cool to run a regular cab short bed with even less than 4" lift and 35's with the running gear from the crewcab: 454/4l80e/Magnum/tons w/ARBs. I could do 90% of the stuff I'm typically running for trails. Plus with A/C @6872xtc.

But harder to tip over! Tall stuff falls farther!

:dunno:

tell me about it :doah:

Laid down 2 more cans of black paint on the frame today. The tuff country springs and some other parts showed up. Rest of the RockAuto parts are delayed from the east coast so I won’t see them til Monday. Oh and I ordered some 35” coopers that should be here next week.

What are you painting the frame with? I always really like Eastwood chassis black.

I like builds that go from nothing to 300 boxes of parts

It’s more fun when I buy the right stuff :D Yesterday I figured out the ORD front shackles are wrong, the leaf spring side has 1/2” holes but my new HD springs use 7/16”. Not sure if I can swap out the bushings or if I need to buy different shackles. The other end of the shackle is 9/16” for the FUSH.
