1974 K10 Dirty Sancho

Saved from cruel and unusual punishment
I thought that hole was supposed to be sealed, and the trans vent was there for "air management"...

Mid length headers that are great quality are the Hedman elites 69830 IIRC. The collectors end up in the frame rails height wise. Easy to route exhaust too, it's a straight shot over the trans cross member.

There is a plug in the driveshaft slip yoke, and it's a fail point. JB weld works well to fix it...

I read a couple other posts suggesting epoxy on the whole yoke air hole.I'll give that a shot.

@tRustyK5 thanks for the header suggestion.

Last couple times I needed to move sancho so I can access my trailer or the K10 it was running really shitty. I figured it was the q jet from the K10's BBC so I scored a edelbrock 1406 for $75. While installing the edelbrock carb I noticed the lack of heat marks on the 5 and 7 header tubes. That was one of those light bulb moments....I must have swapped them when I put the new headers on. The 1406 still went on since it has an electric choke.

You can see the lack of discoloration on the header in the pic below.
