1974 K10 Dirty Sancho

Saved from cruel and unusual punishment
Are those a new M/T from Cooper or just a lesser know version? I only knew about the STT Pro.

not sure how long they’ve been around but it doesn’t appear to be very long, maybe a year or two. For $150 a tire that’s made in the US I figured it was worth a shot. I also had really good luck with a Coopers on my wife’s tahoe.

Fro the rims I’m leaning toward a media blast treatment and maybe a sand/light polish on the raised areas.

I don’t always Fro rims, but when I do I yell “I am Sancho!!”

I dropped it off yesterday at WFO, should be ready Monday with the rest of the crossover parts. I’m going to assemble the drivers side this weekend and check the wheel clearance. I also need to cleanup and inspect the rear axle and shoot some paint on it.

Made some progress over the weekend to share.

First up, I received the new bushing sleeves for the leaf springs so I can run a 1/2" bolt. The OD of the sleeve was the same as the 7/16" bushing so it was really easy to swap those out

My blast cabinet was getting a workout and I noticed the tip was a little worn out.....:rotfl:

Blasted the brake brackets/dust shields and the broke down the axle shafts ad blasted those too. New u-joints pressed in and primed/painted those parts.

Pressed new studs into the hubs with new rotors, assembled the bearing assemblies with new seals. Then I went to install the caliper I found interference with the knuckle so I asked @Bent77 to send some pics of his calipers for comparison. Below is a pic of the interference with the knuckle.

Orielly's listed two different style calipers so I went and bought the other calipers (pictured right) that looked like the ones at @Bent77 was running.

Those calipers cleared the knuckle fine and the rims clear so I'm golden.

What brand are those ball joints? Don't remember seeing the gold boots before.

Mevotech TTX (Terrain Tough Xtreme)

supose to be built stronger with zerks and I’ve read good things about them. You can see the boxes behind the knuckle in this pic.
