1974 K10 Dirty Sancho

Saved from cruel and unusual punishment
Exhaust is mocked up with exception of the tailpipe sections post muffler. It’s 2.5” with a pair of magnaflow knockoff mufflers and I kept it high and tight as you can see in the pics. Today I’ll finish the welding along with the fuel plumbing.

I think you'll like that run better than the one on the Animal. Layout looks nice, good work

I welded the exhaust joints yesterday and sprayed the exhaust with some high temp paint. Shortly thereafter I remembered I used one of the collector gaskets on my other truck and then realized forgot to install the O2 bung :doah:

exhaust is loose in this pic btw.

some other items knocked off the list.

-Coolant bypass hose added.
-Fuel system is fully plumbed and heat shield added. I also swapped the line the ties the rails together to the front so my feed and return are at the back of the engine. Also installed the edelbrock FPR and ran the vacuum line to it.
-Modified and installed the throttle bracket and the lokar throttle cable. The bracket needs a little modification and I could use some longer studs on the throttle body.
-Added new 1" grommets to the valve covers along with the PCV and a breather.
-Painted and modified the OE GenVI dipstick with a new o-ring and a little rtv.
-Installed the front driveshaft with new u-bolts.
-Bought a new 180 thermostat since the Gen V1 didn't fit. I left that loose so I clock the water neck before tightening.
-Installed the oil pressure sending unit for autometer oil pressure gauge. I tried to install the water temp sending unit on the passenger head but the damn plug snapped. I may have to use the drivers side head and ditch the OE gauge for now.

Here you can see the bracket I need to modify so it's flat for the cable jam nut.

I figured you were planning that route to keep it further from the exhaust versus running them in the frame rail. I thing I might be the only person on CK5 running the lines to the ProFlo from the front of the fuel rails.

With the dual exhaust I was kind of limited. Plus I was talking with @Bent77 and he mentioned the TBI trucks had fuel lines up the center so I figured I could get away with it too.

I've seen one or two with the fuel lines up front.

The fuel line doesn’t have a regulator in it somewhere?

The FPR is mounted on the drivers side fuel rail, you can see the diaphragm and the vacuum line in the photos.

Oh I see. I didn't even pay attention to that, as i was looking for a manually adjustable one.

While I like this direction in lots of ways, a C10 will always be more fun on the pavement in my opinion.
Carry on sir!

Agreed, but C10’a aren’t as much fun off-road either ;)
That may be the most debatable thing you have every said.

The most fun a guy can have off road is in a 2wd car. I would only assume a c10 hooned around in a similar fashion would be riot.

if that’s the most debatable thing I’ve ever said then I’m doing pretty good.

The cool thing about this truck is the ability to leave it in 2wd for that same experience yet I still have 4wd so I can make it to camp. Win win.
