I will stand by the fact that a properly tuned and sized carb will always make the same or more power than any efi.

This was a 766hp engine. The fast ez dropped it to 560. Converting the pcm to mega squirt made no change, reinstalled the 950 Holley back to 766hp. It was a first gen though.

Anyway it's going to go like this.
496.
No cast iron heads.
a Fast system or holly system.
this is a performance based build AKA...no stock tbi...hubcaps...gmt400 wheel....blah, blah blah.
this truck is far from perfect nor will probably ever be....Daily driver.
not everything will be top of the line or the best... I am not made of money..
good parts (like the running 350) will be sold.
junk parts will be scrap.
not all posts should be taken at face value.
when I am done it will make me happy..
I would look for a head with a honest 395-400cfm at around 650 lift. Plan on rectangle port and a single plane. I wouldn't get crazy on compression because if you drive it a lot the need for premium becomes annoying. I tend to worry more about quench and a small dome tends to inhibit flame travel less.

for flat tappet!! Of course a proper cam for injection.Agreed ^^^That doesn't surprise me, you are reaching the limits of the fuel injectors at that hp level , if your fuel pump could supply it you could crank the pressure up to 50 or 60 psi but even then you won't be making 760 hp with that throttle body and four ~80 lb/hr injectors. 550 hp is about the limit with 43 psi, and maybe 600 - 650 with higher pressure, if the fuel pump can maintain that pressure at that flow. If it was the EZ 2.0 throttle body then something was wrong with it as I believe that one has 8 injectors in it.
Until I get the Holly terminator system...
Not because I need it....because I want it

Heads are 781s..smog junk.
OK tell me why. From what I read they were not desirable for a performance build....ah what do I care. I won't be using them anyway...OK after reading some guess they aren't bad.Haha, actually those are not smog junk. Those are the good heads........
Martin
) is seemingly all over the place.OK, what the hell is the deal with these heads? Someone educate me. The interwebs (which is always right) is seemingly all over the place.
Edit: finally found some decent I info on these. Guess I will toss them on the self if I ever do a 4wd BBC they would be fine to have.
Fun like a party tomorrow night at Davis Hall??

Sorry we didn't get more time to chat Saturday. So many kids! It was overwhelming for someone who isn't a dad yet! And where did the night go!?!?Well they are both fun but a different kind of fun.
Are all the upper valve cover bolts twisted off? Its funny how you pull the whole cab off before you remove the valve cover.![]()
